Ebnat-Kappel is a town in Switzerland. It is located in the Toggenburg area, which is part of the canton of St. Gallen. It's a place where two older towns, Ebnat and Kappel, joined together to form one bigger community.

History of Ebnat-Kappel
The town of Kappel was first written about in history books way back in 1218. At that time, it was called Capelle. The other part of the town, Ebnat, had a different name until 1762. It was known as Ober-Wattwil before it became Ebnat. The two towns officially merged into Ebnat-Kappel in 1965.
Geography and Landscape
Ebnat-Kappel covers an area of about 43.6 square kilometers (about 16.8 square miles). That's a pretty good size! A large part of this land, almost half (49%), is used for farming. This means there are many fields and farms around.
Another big part, about 42.9%, is covered by forests. The rest of the land is used for buildings and roads (5.2%), or it's made up of rivers and lakes (2.9%). The town is located in the beautiful valley of the Thur River. It's made up of the main villages of Ebnat and Kappel, plus smaller groups of houses scattered around.
