About the Band
How Emblem3 Started
The band members, Drew Chadwick and Wesley Stromberg, first started making music together in middle school. They called themselves American Scholars. At that time, Keaton Stromberg was much younger and played in his own band.
Later, Wesley moved to Huntington Beach, California. Drew joined him there. Keaton also moved to California to be with them and joined their group. They recorded an album called Bite Your Lip and Take It in their basement. After trying out many names, they finally chose "Emblem3" for their band. They often performed their music in local places.
Their Journey on The X Factor in 2012
In 2012, Emblem3 tried out for the second season of The X Factor. This is a TV show where singers compete to win a recording contract. They sang an original song called "Sunset Blvd" for their audition.
During the show's training rounds, they performed songs by famous bands like the Goo Goo Dolls and The Police. Their performances helped them get chosen for the live shows. In the live shows, they sang many different songs, including "One Day" by Matisyahu and "My Girl" by the Temptations. They also performed popular songs by Katy Perry and One Direction.
The band did very well, often ranking high based on fan votes. They made it all the way to the semi-finals. In the end, Emblem3 finished in fourth place overall on The X Factor.
