After The X Factor, Eoghan signed a record deal with RCA Records. He released his first album, called Eoghan Quigg, in 2009. Later, in 2014, he tried to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest but came in second place in the national selection.
Eoghan Quigg's Early Life
Eoghan Karl Christopher Quigg was born on 12 July 1992. He grew up in a town called Dungiven in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
From a very young age, Eoghan loved singing along to Disney cartoons. He found his singing voice in a funny way. As a punishment in class, his teacher told him to stand up and sing. To everyone's surprise, he sang really well! This led to him becoming a choir boy. After that, he often sang the main parts in school musicals, like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

His Time on The X Factor
In 2008, Eoghan auditioned for The X Factor. He sang for famous judges like Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh, and Cheryl Cole. Eoghan made it through the early stages and reached the live shows. He was part of Simon Cowell's group for boys aged 14–24.
In the first live show, Eoghan sang "Imagine" and the judges loved it. The next week, during Michael Jackson week, he sang "Ben" and also received praise. During Big Band week, he sang "L-O-V-V-E" and got a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience. As the competition went on, Eoghan became Simon Cowell's last singer left. He made it all the way to the semi-finals. After singing "Year 3000" and "Does Your Mother Know", he was voted into the grand final.
In the end, Eoghan was the last contestant to be eliminated. Alexandra Burke won the show, and JLS came in second place.

His First Album

However, many music critics did not like the album. Some even called it one of the worst records ever made. They said it didn't have many new songs, wasn't produced well, and Eoghan's singing wasn't strong enough. Because the album didn't sell very well, RCA Records decided not to continue working with him.
Trying for Eurovision
In February 2014, Eoghan was chosen as one of five acts to compete to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. He sang a song called "The Movie Song". He finished second in the competition, just missing out on representing his country.

In April 2017, Eoghan started working as a radio presenter for Q Radio Mid Ulster. The next year, he even interviewed Alexandra Burke, who won The X Factor in the same year he was on the show.

Eoghan Quigg lives in Derry with his girlfriend, Amy Campbell. They started dating in 2015. They have a daughter named Emmy Belle, who was born in April 2021.
