Ferlens was a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the canton of Vaud, within the Lavaux-Oron area. On July 1, 2016, Ferlens joined with two other towns, Carrouge and Mézières. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Jorat-Mézières.

History of Ferlens
Ferlens is a very old place. It was first mentioned in historical records around the years 1147 to 1150. Back then, its name was spelled Ferlens, just like today.
Geography and Location
Ferlens covers an area of about 2.2 square kilometers (0.85 square miles). A large part of this land, almost 70%, is used for farming. About 22% of the area is covered by forests. The remaining 7% has buildings and roads.
The town is located in a region called Jorat. It sits on the left bank of the Broye River. The eastern edge of Ferlens borders the Canton of Fribourg. Before 2006, Ferlens was part of the Oron District. After that, it became part of the new Lavaux-Oron District.
