Finding Dory is a fun computer-animated comedy adventure movie released in 2016. It was made by Pixar Animation Studios and came out through Walt Disney Pictures. This movie is a sequel to the popular 2003 Disney-Pixar film, Finding Nemo.
Andrew Stanton, who also directed the first movie, was the director for Finding Dory. The movie was officially announced by Walt Disney Pictures in April 2013. Originally, it was planned to be released in late 2015. Hayden Rolence voiced the character of Nemo the clownfish in this film. This was because Alexander Gould, who voiced Nemo in Finding Nemo, had grown up and his voice had changed.
The Story of Dory
Finding Dory is all about Dory, a friendly regal blue tang fish. Dory has a special challenge: she forgets things almost instantly because of her short-term memory loss. The main story follows Dory as she tries to find her long-lost family. The adventure takes place near the coast of California.
Who Voices the Characters
Many famous actors lent their voices to the characters in Finding Dory:
- Ellen DeGeneres as Dory, the forgetful regal blue tang.
- Sloane Murray as Baby Dory. Sloane is the seven-year-old daughter of the movie's producer, Lindsey Collins.
- Albert Brooks as Marlin, an clownfish. He is Nemo's dad and Dory's good friend.
- Hayden Rolence as Nemo, a young clownfish and Marlin's son.
- Ed O'Neill as Hank, a grumpy East Pacific red octopus who is missing one of his tentacles.
- Diane Keaton as Jenny, Dory's mother.
- Eugene Levy as Charlie, Dory's father.
- Kaitlin Olson as Destiny, a whale shark who can't see very well (she's near-sighted). She is also Dory's childhood friend.
- Ty Burrell as Bailey, a beluga whale. He temporarily lost his ability to use animal echolocation (like sonar) after getting a bump on his head.
- Idris Elba as Fluke, an easygoing sea lion.
- Dominic West as Rudder, a sea lion and Fluke's friend.
- Bob Peterson as Mr. Ray, a spotted eagle ray who is Nemo's schoolteacher.
- Andrew Stanton as Crush, a cool sea turtle who lives in the East Australian Current.
- Bennett Dammann as Squirt, Crush's son.
- Bill Hader as Stan, a kelp bass.
- Kate McKinnon as Stan's fish wife.
- Angus MacLane as Charlie Back-and-Forth, an ocean sunfish.
- Katherine Ringgold as a chickenfish.
- Sigourney Weaver as herself, the voice you hear over the intercom at the Institute.
- Alexander Gould as Passenger Carl, a delivery truck driver, and Passenger Tommy, Carl's co-worker. Alexander used to voice Nemo in the first movie.
- John Ratzenberger as Bill, a crab.
- Torbin Xan Bullock as Gerald, a sea lion who is often picked on by Fluke and Rudder. He also voices Becky, a friendly but not-so-smart common loon.
- Willem Dafoe as Gill, a moorish idol and the leader of the "Tank Gang."
- Brad Garrett as Bloat, a porcupinefish.
