Football 7-a-side was a special kind of football played at the Summer Paralympics from 1984 to 2016. It's a version of football for athletes with cerebral palsy (CP) or other brain injuries that affect their movement.

At the very first Paralympics where it was played in 1984, there were two different events. One was for men who used wheelchairs, and the other was for men who could stand. After that, every Summer Paralympics only had a team event for standing men. Women have never competed in Football 7-a-side at the Paralympics.

Sadly, Football 7-a-side was removed from the 2020 Summer Paralympics. The people in charge of the Paralympics (the IPC) also said no to bringing it back for the 2024 Summer Paralympics. They explained that not enough women played the sport around the world for it to be included.
