Forkland is a small town located in Greene County, Alabama, in the United States. In 2020, about 445 people lived there. The town officially became a town, or "incorporated," around 1974.

History of Forkland
Forkland is home to some interesting historical places. One important site is St. John's-In-The-Prairie. This building was constructed in 1859 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's a special place recognized for its history. Two other historic sites, Rosemount and Thornhill, are also located nearby.
Where is Forkland?
Forkland is found in the southern part of Greene County. It's located between two important rivers: the Black Warrior River to the east and the Tombigbee River to the west. The Black Warrior River joins the Tombigbee River a few miles south of Forkland, near the town of Demopolis.
U.S. Route 43, a main road, goes right through Forkland. If you travel north on this road, you'll reach Eutaw, which is the main town of Greene County. If you go south, you'll arrive in Demopolis.
The town of Forkland covers an area of about 3.5 square miles (9.1 square kilometers). A very small part of this area, about 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometers), is water.
