Frankie Alexander King (born June 6, 1972) is a former professional basketball player from America. He was 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed about 185 pounds when he played. Frankie King played as a point guard or shooting guard. He even played in the NBA for teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
College Basketball Journey
Frankie King went to Appling County High School in Baxley, Georgia. He played high school basketball there. After high school, he played college basketball at Brunswick College from 1991 to 1993. This school is now known as the College of Coastal Georgia.
Later, he played college basketball at Western Carolina University. He was part of their men's team, the Western Carolina Catamounts, from 1993 to 1995.
In 2013, Frankie King was honored and added to the Western Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame. In 2021, he was also named to the Southern Conference's men's basketball 100-year anniversary team. This team celebrates the best players from the conference's history.
Professional Basketball Career
In the 1995 NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers chose Frankie King. He was the 37th player picked in the second round. He played with the Lakers during the 1995–96 season. He also played with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1996–97 season. In total, King played 13 games in the NBA, with 6 games for the Lakers and 7 for the 76ers.
After his time in the NBA, King continued his professional career. He played in many different countries around the world. These included Spain, Greece, Germany, France, Turkey, and Cyprus in Europe. He also played in Israel (Asia) and Venezuela (South America).
