About G2G: Got to Go!
This fun animated series first aired in Australia on the Nine Network in 2008. It had 26 episodes, each about half an hour long. In 2010, the show also started playing in Canada on CBC Television. CBC Television even made an online game for the show called G2G: Extra Credit. Later, in 2018, the show was picked up by Toon-A-Vision.
How the Show Works
Each episode of G2G: Got to Go! usually starts with Maddison getting an email. This email is from a student at her school who needs advice about a problem. Maddison tries to help by giving personal advice. What's cool is that she often faces a very similar problem herself. This helps her figure out the best advice for the person who emailed her.
Meet the Characters
The show mostly features characters who are teenagers or preteens. Teachers and parents also appear sometimes. The story takes place in a made-up junior high school in North America.
Main Characters
Maddison Marples-Macintosh
Maddison (voiced by Esther Maloney) is the main character. She is about 13 years old. Maddison is a typical preteen girl who loves to giggle and chat. She can be shy in social situations but is confident in her own skills. She secretly runs an advice column called Miss Communication on her school's website. Maddison often asks her best friends, Saffron and Rainbow, for advice. She also has a big crush on Ace, who is very popular at school.
Saffron Parker
Saffron (voiced by Pina Crispo) is Maddison's best friend. She is one year older than Maddie and thinks of herself as more grown-up. Saffron is blonde, pretty, and loves fashion. She enjoys being noticed and gets lots of attention from her friends. Saffron's brother, Stinky, often tries to play pranks on her.
Rainbow
Rainbow (voiced by Ann Pirvu) is 13 years old and the third friend in the group. She is a very spiritual girl who enjoys stargazing and meditating. Rainbow often thinks about things like her chakras more than her schoolwork. She is a clear thinker and gives unique advice that her friends might not see at first. Rainbow can be a bit quirky, sometimes showing up late for the right classes. She learns a lot from her mom, like how to use Feng Shui to balance energy.
L33t (Leet)
Leet (voiced by CJ Sharpe) is the school's techno-geek, and he's proud of it! He uses his amazing tech skills to get attention. Leet is the youngest kid in school because his parents put him in early and he skipped a grade. He doesn't belong to any specific friend groups, which means he knows a lot of people. By the end of the series, Leet develops a crush on Maddie.
Ace
Ace De Silva (voiced by Jack Troughton) is very handsome but not very focused on schoolwork. He plays bass guitar and sings in a band called 'Fever Meter' with Stinky and their friends. Ace is a huge soccer fan. If he's not with his band, he's usually playing soccer. Ace is known for his bright smile and smooth voice. He is liked by many girls at school, especially Maddie.
Stinky
Stinky (voiced by Justin Richardson) is Saffron's twin brother. His real name is Samuel, but no one, not even himself, calls him that. He's a typical teenage boy who isn't very concerned about hygiene. Stinky is known for being very protective of his sister and her friends. He makes sure no one bothers them, except for himself! He and Ace are great at soccer and are often together. Stinky is the drummer for the band Fever Meter, which is very popular at school.
Parents and Pets
Mandii and Mac
Mandii (voiced by Lesley Livingston) and Mac (voiced by Bob Oniskyw) are Maddie's loving parents. Mandii hosts an entertainment news show called CelebriTV. She is often away filming and interviewing. Mac is a correspondent for a big news network. He travels a lot to discover ancient places or study animals. Maddie sees her mom more often than her dad, who is on assignment for most of the year. They often talk through webcam. Mandii and Mac are great role models for Maddie. Mandii is also a good source of gossip and is popular with Maddie's friends.
Amelia
Amelia is Maddie's dog. Maddie named her after Amelia Earhart, showing her admiration for strong women. Amelia is a bit overweight because of a thyroid problem and is always on a diet that she never sticks to. She even has a tiny treadmill, which she mostly uses to collect dust! Amelia is surprisingly interested in fashion and often looks through magazines when Maddie isn't around.
