Garrett Wolfe (born August 17, 1984) is an American former professional football player. He played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). The Chicago Bears chose him in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft. He played his college football for the Northern Illinois Huskies.

Garrett Wolfe's Early Life and High School Football
Garrett Wolfe grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He went to Holy Cross High School in River Grove, Illinois. During his last two years of high school, he ran for an amazing 4,311 yards. He also scored 56 touchdowns. Wolfe set eleven school records at Holy Cross. He received many awards from Chicago newspapers like the Chicago Tribune.
Garrett Wolfe's College Football Career
Wolfe started his college career at Northern Illinois University. In his first year, he did not play much. But in his second year, he became the team's main running back. He was one of the best rushers in the country. By the end of the 2004 season, he had rushed for over 1,400 yards. He scored 17 touchdowns in just seven games.
His 2005 season was also very good. He became well-known across the country. He had strong games against teams like the Michigan Wolverines. A knee injury made him miss three games that season. Even with the injury, he was chosen as an All-American. He was also voted the Huskies' Most Valuable Player.
Wolfe started the 2006 season very strongly. He gained 285 total yards against the Ohio State Buckeyes. At that time, the Buckeyes were the top-ranked team in the nation. He finished the 2006 season with the most rushing yards in the NCAA. He had 1,928 rushing yards, averaging 157 yards per game.

Garrett Wolfe's Professional Football Career
Playing for the Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears picked Garrett Wolfe in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft. He was the 93rd player chosen overall. On May 15, 2007, Wolfe was the first player from his draft class to sign a contract with the Bears. He signed a four-year deal.
In December 2008, Wolfe had a torn hamstring injury. This meant he could not play for the rest of the season. He finished the 2008 season with 15 carries for 69 yards. After the 2010 season, Wolfe became a free agent. The Bears did not offer him a new contract.

In late 2011, Wolfe signed with the Omaha Nighthawks. This team was part of the United Football League (UFL). On May 14, 2012, Wolfe signed with the Montreal Alouettes. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
