George Ernest Salazar, born on March 7, 1986, is an American actor and singer. He is famous for his roles in plays and musicals, both on and off Broadway. George first appeared on Broadway in 2011 in the musical Godspell. He created the role of Michael Mell in the musical Be More Chill in 2015. He later played this role Off-Broadway in 2018 and on Broadway in 2019 at the Lyceum Theatre in New York City. George also played Grover in The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. He starred as Seymour Krelborn in the Pasadena Playhouse production of Little Shop of Horrors. On TV, he had a recurring role as George Conway in the FX series Impeachment: American Crime Story in 2021. In 2025, he made his movie debut. He provided the voice and facial movements for Happy, one of the Seven Dwarfs, in Disney's live-action movie Snow White.

Early Life and Education
George Salazar was born in Kissimmee, Florida. His family comes from the Philippines and Ecuador. When he was younger, George wanted to be a surgeon. However, in his last two years of high school, he decided to focus on theater instead.
After high school, he went to the University of Florida. In 2008, he earned a degree in musical theater. Soon after, he moved to New York City to start his acting career. He felt that his ethnicity limited his career options in his home state.
George Salazar's Acting Career
George Salazar got his first big chance in 2010. He was cast as "Otto" in the national tour of the musical Spring Awakening. This show traveled across the United States and Canada. It finished its tour in May 2011. After returning to New York City, George became a member of the Actors' Equity Association. This is a union for actors.
In September 2011, George was cast in the Broadway revival of Godspell. This was a special 40th-anniversary production. In the show, he was the "Light of the World" soloist. This was his first time performing on Broadway. The show opened on November 7, 2011, and closed on June 24, 2012. The cast also recorded an album in 2012. During the show's run, George and the cast appeared on TV shows. These included Late Show with David Letterman and The View.
In 2013, George combined his love for theater and music. He was a cast member and musician in the Off-Broadway show F#%king Up Everything. He played the drummer in a rock band and also played the drums on stage. This role was later repeated in 2016 when the musical was renamed Brooklyn Crush.
Later in 2013, George became an understudy in Here Lies Love. This Off-Broadway show was at The Public Theater. In April 2014, George rejoined the cast as an ensemble member. The show closed on January 4, 2015.
In 2015, he joined the cast of Be More Chill. This musical is based on a book by Ned Vizzini. George played Michael Mell at the Two River Theater in New Jersey. The show finished its run on June 28, 2015.
In 2016, he played Michael in the Off-Broadway revival of Tick, Tick... Boom!. This show opened on October 20, 2016, and ran until December 18.
In 2017, George played Grover and Mr. D in The Lightning Thief. This Off-Broadway show ran from March 23 to May 6.
In 2018, he played Michael Mell again in Be More Chill. This was for the Off-Broadway premiere at Signature Theatre Company. He continued in the role from July to September 2018.
In 2019, George played Michael Mell in Be More Chill on Broadway. The show ran at the Lyceum Theatre from February 14 to August 11, 2019.
Also in 2019, he starred as Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors. This production was at Pasadena Playhouse. He performed from September 17 to October 20, 2019. During this time, he was a musical guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden. He sang "Suddenly Seymour" with his co-star Mj Rodriguez.
In 2021, George played Musidorus in Head Over Heels. This show was at Pasadena Playhouse from November 9 to December 12, 2021. It was his first theater role after the COVID-19 pandemic began. It was also the first show to reopen the Pasadena Playhouse.
In 2022, George played Agent Maxwell Fernsby in As the Curtain Rises. This was an original Broadway soap opera podcast.
In 2023, he starred in The Bottoming Process. This new play was produced by IAMA Theatre Company. George played the main character, Milo Santos. Critics praised his performance.
Personal Life
