Gerhard Martin "Gerry" Tremmel (born 16 November 1978) is a German former professional footballer. He played as a goalkeeper and was known for his amazing shot-stopping skills and quick reflexes.
Gerry played in top football leagues like the Premier League in England and the Bundesliga in Germany. He also played in big European competitions like the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. After he stopped playing, he became a scout for Swansea City.
Gerhard Tremmel holds some impressive records as a goalkeeper. During the 2012–13 season, he had the best "saves per goal conceded" ratio in the Premier League. This means he made 4.2 saves for every goal that got past him. He also saved 80.9% of the shots he faced that season, which was the best save percentage in the league. Only Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich, another famous goalkeeper, had a better saves-to-shots ratio in Europe.

Gerry Tremmel's Football Journey
Starting Out in Football
Gerry Tremmel started his football journey in youth teams at big clubs like Bayern Munich and 1860 Munich. He spent three years at 1860 Munich before joining SpVgg Unterhaching, where he played his first senior games.
In 2002, Gerry moved from Bavaria to play for Hannover 96. After that, he joined Hertha BSC, where he spent a season playing for their reserve team. In 2006, he signed with Energie Cottbus and played there for four years. Later, in 2010, he moved to Red Bull Salzburg.
Time at Swansea City
On 30 August 2011, Tremmel joined Swansea City for free. This happened after Swansea was promoted to the Premier League. The manager, Brendan Rodgers, signed Tremmel because he played really well in pre-season games against teams like Celtic and Real Betis.
Gerry made his first official appearance for Swansea on 7 January 2012 in an FA Cup match against Barnsley. Swansea won that game 4–2. He played his first Premier League game on 26 February 2012 against Stoke City.
In the 2012–13 season, Gerry got more chances to play when the main goalkeeper, Michel Vorm, got injured. With Tremmel in goal, Swansea went on an amazing seven-match unbeaten run. This included big away wins against Liverpool in the League Cup, and Newcastle United and Arsenal in the Premier League. He also managed to keep the opposing teams from scoring against strong clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. His manager, Michael Laudrup, praised his great performances.
On 24 February 2013, Gerry Tremmel helped Swansea City win the League Cup by beating Bradford City 5–0. This was a huge moment for Swansea, as it was their first major trophy ever! Winning the League Cup also meant they qualified for the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. It was a big highlight in Tremmel's career, showing how his hard work paid off.
Gerry left Swansea in May 2015 but then rejoined the team in August of the same year, signing a new two-year contract. He was released by the club again in May 2017.
Loan to Werder Bremen
In January 2016, Tremmel was loaned to Werder Bremen in his home country, Germany.
Life After Playing Football
After leaving Swansea City at the end of the 2016–17 season, Gerry Tremmel started a new role. He became a scout for the club. A scout's job is to find new talented players for the team.
