Gimli Peak is a tall mountain, 2,806 meters (about 9,206 feet) high, located in the Valhalla Ranges within the Selkirk Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. It's a part of the beautiful Valhalla Provincial Park. Gimli Peak is the fourth-highest point in the Valhalla Ranges. The highest peak there is Gladsheim Peak, which is about 2.7 kilometers (1.7 miles) north of Gimli Peak.

The name "Valhalla Mountains" first appeared on a map in 1890 by George Mercer Dawson. He named many mountains and ranges in this area after places and characters from old Scandinavian stories called Norse mythology. Following this theme, Gimli Peak was first called "Mount Gimli" in 1900. Its name was officially changed to Gimli Peak on April 29, 1998. In Norse mythology, Gimli is a special place where good people are said to live after a big event called Ragnarök, which is like the end of the world.

The weather around Gimli Peak is a subarctic climate. This means it has very cold, snowy winters and mild summers. Temperatures can drop below −20 °C (minus 4 °F), and with wind, it can feel even colder, sometimes below −30 °C (minus 22 °F). Water from the mountain flows into streams that eventually join the Slocan River.
