Glendo is a small town located in Platte County, Wyoming, in the United States. In 2010, the population was 205 people. Glendo is known for its friendly community and its beautiful natural surroundings, especially Glendo State Park.

History of Glendo
Glendo officially became a town in 1922. Long ago, important routes like the California Trail, Oregon Trail, and Mormon Trail all passed just south of Glendo. The Overland Stage Line, which carried mail and passengers, also went through this area.
In December 1919, a famous train robber named William L. Carlisle was caught near Glendo. He was one of the last train robbers in America.
On August 21, 2017, Glendo was in a very special spot for a total solar eclipse. This was the first time a total solar eclipse could be seen across the continental United States since 1979! Many thousands of people who love watching eclipses came to Glendo to see this amazing event.

Glendo State Park
Glendo is very close to Glendo State Park. This park is one of several fun outdoor areas along the North Platte River in Wyoming. The park is located around Glendo Reservoir, which is a big lake. It's a super popular place for water sports like boating and swimming, and also for fishing!
Learning in Glendo (Education)
Kids in Glendo attend public schools run by Platte County School District #1. There's a school campus called Glendo Schools that teaches students from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.
Glendo also has a public library. It's part of the Platte County Public Library System, where you can borrow books and learn new things.
