Greenwich Township is a community located in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It's known as a "township."
As of 2020, about 4,917 people lived in Greenwich Township. This number was just a little bit higher than in 2010.
Greenwich Township was first created a very long time ago, on March 1, 1695. It became an official township on February 21, 1798. Over the years, parts of Greenwich Township were used to form other nearby towns. The township was named after Greenwich, England.

History of Greenwich Township
The Oldest Log Cabin
Greenwich Township is home to the C. A. Nothnagle Log House. This is one of the oldest wooden buildings still standing in the Eastern United States. It was likely built by early settlers from Finland and Sweden. They built it sometime between 1638 and 1700.
The exact age of the cabin is not fully known. A sign at the house says it was built between 1638 and 1643. The National Register of Historic Places says it was important between 1650 and 1699. This old cabin has one room and a low ceiling. It also has a large fireplace in one corner.

High School Education
Students in grades nine through twelve attend Paulsboro High School. This high school is located in Paulsboro. Greenwich Township has a special agreement with Paulsboro Public Schools for its students to attend.
Students in Gloucester County can also apply to the Gloucester County Institute of Technology. This school in Deptford Township offers technical and vocational training. It's a public school, so students do not pay tuition.
Catholic School Option
Guardian Angels Regional School is a private school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. It is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Camden. Its campus for younger students (Pre-K–3) is in Gibbstown. The campus for older students (4–8) is in Paulsboro.

Roads and Highways
Greenwich Township has many roads. Major roads include Route 44. Also, U.S. Route 130 and Interstate 295 pass through the township. There are three exits for I-295 (Exits 15, 16, and 17) near the border with East Greenwich Township.
Public Transport
NJ Transit offers bus service from Greenwich Township to Philadelphia. This is available on the 402 bus route.
The Port of Paulsboro is nearby. It handles shipping and is served by SMS Rail Lines. This includes a rail line to the PBF Energy refinery in Gibbstown.
