Joining the Rams
Greg Robinson was a highly anticipated player in the 2014 NFL draft. The St. Louis Rams selected him as the second overall pick. This was a big deal because he was the highest-drafted offensive lineman ever from Auburn University. He signed a four-year contract with the Rams.
During the 2016 season, Greg started as the left tackle. However, he faced some challenges. He was sometimes replaced by another player, Rodger Saffold, in certain games.
In 2017, the Rams made some changes to their offensive line. Greg was moved to play guard and then later to right tackle. The Rams decided not to extend his contract for a fifth year, which meant he would become a free agent after the 2017 season.
Time with the Lions
On June 15, 2017, Greg Robinson was traded to the Detroit Lions. This trade happened because the Lions' starting left tackle, Taylor Decker, was injured. Greg was brought in to help fill that important position.
However, his time with the Lions was short. He missed two games due to an ankle injury. On November 10, 2017, the Lions decided to release him. He was then placed on the injured reserve list.
Playing for the Browns
Greg Robinson signed with the Cleveland Browns on June 19, 2018. He started the season as a backup tackle. But by Week 9, he became the starting left tackle for the team. He held that position for the rest of the season. The Browns finished the 2018 season with a 7–8–1 record.
The Browns re-signed Greg for another year on February 25, 2019. He continued as the starting left tackle for most of the 2019 season. He played in 15 games, missing one due to a concussion.
In Week 1 of the 2019 season, Greg was ejected from a game against the Tennessee Titans. This happened after he kicked a Titans player. He was also fined for this incident. Later in the season, he recovered a fumble in a game against the San Francisco 49ers. He was part of an offensive line that helped Nick Chubb become one of the top rushers in the league. The Browns ended the 2019 season with a 6–10 record.
After the 2019 season, Greg Robinson became a free agent.
