Grimentz is a charming village located in the Valais canton of Switzerland. It's part of the Sierre district. Before 2009, Grimentz was its own independent town. But on January 1, 2009, it joined with several nearby villages like Ayer, Chandolin, Saint Jean, Saint-Luc, and Vissoie to create a larger municipality called Anniviers.

The History of Grimentz
Grimentz is a very old village. It was first written about in the year 1052. Back then, its name was Grimiens.
For a while, the village was also known by its German name, Grimensi. However, people don't use that name anymore.

Grimentz is located in the Val d'Anniviers, which is a beautiful valley in the Pennine Alps. The village sits at an altitude of about 1,620 meters (5,315 feet) above sea level.
Lakes Near Grimentz
There are a couple of interesting lakes close to Grimentz.
- Lac de Moiry is a large reservoir. It was finished in 1958 and helps store water.
- Lac des Autannes is another lake. It is much higher up, located at an elevation of 2,686 meters (8,812 feet).
