Vissoie is a small village located in the Sierre area of Switzerland. It's part of the Valais canton, which is like a state in Switzerland.
Vissoie became its own separate town in 1905. Before that, it was part of the towns of Ayer and Grimentz. Later, on January 1, 2009, Vissoie joined with several nearby villages. These included Ayer, Chandolin, Grimentz, Saint Jean, and Saint-Luc. Together, they formed a new, larger town called Anniviers.
