William Carey and the Chapel
The Hackleton Carey Baptist Chapel is very special. It was started by William Carey. He was an English Protestant missionary and Baptist minister. He is often called the "father of modern missions." Carey was one of the people who helped create the Baptist Missionary Society.
William Carey came to Hackleton to learn a trade as a shoemaker. He lived and worked here before he became famous. The Chapel is built near where he completed his apprenticeship. There is even a road in Hackleton named Carey Road, in his honor. An inscription on the chapel explains his connection to the village. It says he was converted to God and preached his first sermon in Hackleton.

Future of Hackleton
There have been plans for more housing development around Northampton. This includes an area called "Preston Green." In 2008, there were plans for 13,500 new houses and other buildings. These developments would be in rural areas near Grange Park, Quinton, and Preston Deanery. Such large-scale growth could mean that Hackleton might become part of a larger urban area in the future.
