The Halls Gap Zoo is an exciting place to visit in Victoria, Australia. It's a large country zoo located about 7 kilometers from Halls Gap. This amazing zoo covers about 53 acres of land. From the zoo, you can even see the beautiful Grampians National Park. It's the biggest regional zoo in Victoria, home to over 160 different kinds of animals!

How the Zoo Started

The Halls Gap Zoo has an interesting past. It first opened its doors in the early 1980s. Back then, it was known by a different name: Wallaroo Wildlife Park.

New Owners and New Names

In 1998, new owners took over the park. They decided to rename it the Halls Gap Wildlife Park & Zoo. This marked a new chapter for the animal park.

The Zoo Today

The zoo changed hands again in December 2007. The current owners bought it and gave it its present name, the Halls Gap Zoo. They have continued to improve the zoo for both animals and visitors.

Recent Additions to the Zoo

In 2008, the zoo added some cool new areas. They opened a special nocturnal house where you can see animals that are active at night. They also created a wetlands area, which is a perfect home for different kinds of waterfowl.
