Haverford is a community in Pennsylvania, USA. It's not officially a city or town, but a part of two different areas: Haverford Township and Lower Merion Township. It's about 3 miles (5 km) west of Philadelphia.
The Pennsylvania Railroad opened Haverford Station in 1880. This station was on their main train line going west from Philadelphia.
Haverford is next to other communities like Havertown, Bryn Mawr, and Ardmore.
The name Haverford comes from a town called Haverfordwest in Wales, UK.
Today, Haverford is well-known for Haverford College. It's also home to the Merion Cricket Club, one of the oldest country clubs in the United States.
Major roads in Haverford include Lancaster Avenue (which is part of US 30), Montgomery Avenue, and Haverford Road. The highway I-476 (also called the Blue Route) also passes nearby.
