Hayti (pronounced HAY-tie) is a city located in eastern Pemiscot County, Missouri, in the United States. According to the 2020 census, the city had a population of 2,493 people.

History of Hayti
Hayti was officially planned out and created in 1894. This happened when the railroad lines were extended to reach that area.
There are two main ideas about how Hayti got its name:
- One story says the city was named after Dr. G. Hayes, who was an original owner of the land where the city was built.
- Another idea is that the name comes from the country of Haiti. Before the 1900s, the name of the country was often spelled as "Hayti."
A post office has been operating in Hayti since 1895.
Geography of Hayti
Hayti is located in the eastern part of Pemiscot County, very close to the Mississippi River.
Roads and Nearby Cities
Interstate 55 runs through the eastern side of Hayti. This highway connects Hayti to Sikeston to the north and Blytheville, Arkansas to the south.
Near Hayti's southern edge, Interstate 155 meets I-55. I-155 then goes southeast, crossing the river into Tennessee.
Other important roads include:
- U.S. Route 412, which connects Hayti to Kennett to the west.
- Route 84, which links Hayti with Caruthersville to the east.
The city of Hayti Heights is right next to Hayti, bordering it on the west.
