Henry Patten (born on May 6, 1996) is a talented British professional tennis player. He is especially good at playing doubles matches. Henry reached the amazing rank of world No. 1 in doubles by the ATP on June 8, 2026. He has won three major Grand Slam doubles titles. These include the Wimbledon Championships in 2024 and 2026, and the Australian Open in 2025. He achieved these big wins with his partner, Harri Heliövaara.
Henry has also won 12 doubles titles on the main ATP Tour. Before that, he won 13 ATP Challenger titles. In 2022, he set a record by winning ten Challenger doubles titles in just one year.

Henry's Early Life and Interests
Henry Patten was born in Manningtree, England, on May 6, 1996. He went to Ipswich School and Culford School. Later, he studied at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. There, he played tennis for his college team. He also studied at Durham University for a short time. During his summer breaks from college, Henry worked at Wimbledon. He helped keep track of statistics for the matches.
Henry is a member of the Roehampton Club. He also loves to play chess when he is traveling for tournaments.
In November 2025, Henry asked his girlfriend, Ellie Stone, to marry him. She is now his wife and works as a doctor. They first met when they were both students at UNC Asheville. Henry played tennis, and Ellie played football.
College Tennis Journey
At UNC Asheville, Henry became the top-ranked NCAA doubles player. He also reached No. 32 in singles. In 2018, he made history for his college. He was the first player from his program chosen for the singles tournament at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships. While studying at Durham, he also played in the 2019 BUCS Men's Doubles Championship. He and his partner, Josip Krstanovic, finished in second place.

Setting Records in 2022
In 2022, Henry Patten had an amazing year. He won ten Challenger doubles titles. This set a new record for the most Challenger doubles titles won in a single season. He achieved this incredible feat with his partner, Julian Cash.
First Big ATP Final in 2023
In 2023, Henry and Julian Cash reached their first final on the main ATP Tour. This happened at the 2023 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships. They played a very close match but lost to Jordan Thompson and Max Purcell. In May 2023, Henry also entered the top 50 players in the world for doubles.
2024: Wimbledon Champion and First ATP Titles
The year 2024 was a huge one for Henry. He teamed up with a new partner, Harri Heliövaara. In April, they won their first ATP title together at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Morocco. They beat a strong team from Austria. They also won the Lyon Open in France.
Winning Wimbledon

Later, they won the Stockholm Open. By the end of 2024, Henry was the top British men's doubles player. He and Harri qualified for the ATP Finals. There, they played very well and reached the semifinals.
2025: Australian Open and ATP Finals Champion
Henry and Harri continued their winning streak in 2025. They won the doubles title at the Australian Open. This was their second Grand Slam victory! They beat Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in a tough final. Henry became only the third British player to win this event in the modern tennis era. Henry also reached the semifinals in mixed doubles at the Australian Open with Olivia Nicholls.
Climbing the Rankings
In January 2025, Henry reached a new career-high ranking. He became world No. 3 in the ATP doubles rankings. Later that year, they were runners-up at the Dubai Tennis Championships. They also reached the quarterfinals at the French Open.
More Big Wins in 2025
Henry and Harri won the China Open title. They also won the Paris Masters. To top off an incredible year, they won the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin. They beat fellow British players Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in the final.
2026: World No. 1 and Second Wimbledon Title
The year 2026 started strong for Henry and Harri. They won the Adelaide International in January. They then won back-to-back titles in February. These were the Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships.
Reaching World No. 1
They reached their fourth final of the year at the Miami Open. They then won the Madrid Open in May. At the French Open, they were runners-up. Despite this, Henry and Harri became the joint world No. 1 players on June 8, 2026!
Another Wimbledon Victory
Moving to the grass courts, they reached the final of the Queen's Club Championships. Then, at Wimbledon, they faced the same team they lost to at Queen's. This time, Henry and Harri won in straight sets! This was their second Wimbledon title together.
