Neal Skupski (born December 1, 1989) is a British professional tennis player. He is famous for playing doubles tennis. He reached the top spot in the world for doubles players, becoming World No. 1 in November 2022. He shared this achievement with his partner, Wesley Koolhof, at the end of that year. Neal is the third British player to become World No. 1 in doubles.
Neal has won four Grand Slam titles, which are the biggest tournaments in tennis. He won the Wimbledon Championships in 2023 and the Australian Open in 2026 in men's doubles. He also won two mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon in 2021 and 2022, playing with Desirae Krawczyk. He has won 18 doubles titles on the ATP Tour, including three major ATP 1000 events in 2022. Neal has also represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup and at the Olympics.

Neal Skupski's Tennis Journey
Early Life and College Tennis
Neal Skupski was born in Liverpool, England. His parents are Mary and Ken Skupski Sr. He went to King David High School. Neal has an older brother, Ken Skupski, who is also a tennis player. They often played doubles together until Ken Jr. retired in 2022.
Neal played a few matches in 2010 and 2011. Then, he took a year to finish his studies at Louisiana State University (LSU). There, he studied sports administration and played college tennis.
Starting His Professional Career
Neal became a professional tennis player in 2013. He started on smaller tours, like the Futures and Challenger Tours. He began playing more often with his brother Ken in March 2013. They reached a final on the Challenger Tour and won five Challenger titles that year. These wins helped Neal enter the top 200 players in the world.
At the 2013 Kremlin Cup, the Skupski brothers played in their first ATP World Tour tournament. They made it to the final but lost in a close match. After this, Neal entered the top 100 rankings for the first time. He finished 2013 ranked 86th in the world.
First Big Wins and Partnerships
In 2017, Neal and his brother Ken reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. This was a big achievement for them. They won their first ATP Tour title together in 2018 at the Open Sud de France. Later that year, Neal won his second and biggest title at the Vienna Open with fellow British player Joe Salisbury.
Neal continued to achieve more in 2019. He reached the mixed doubles semifinals at the 2019 Australian Open with María José Martínez Sánchez. Becoming a Wimbledon Champion
In March 2021, Neal won his fifth ATP title with his brother Ken at the Mexican Open. He then reached two more Masters 1000 finals with Dan Evans in Miami and Monte-Carlo. These successes helped him enter the top 20 in doubles rankings. On July 11, 2021, Neal won his first Grand Slam title. He partnered with Desirae Krawczyk to win the Wimbledon mixed doubles final. He then reached the top 15 in doubles. Later in 2021, he won his sixth ATP title at the San Diego Open with Joe Salisbury.
Reaching the Top of Doubles Tennis
The year 2022 was very successful for Neal. He started a new partnership with Wesley Koolhof. They won two ATP titles in Australia and another in Qatar. They also reached the final of the Miami Open. In May 2022, they won their first Masters 1000 title at the Madrid Open. This win helped Neal enter the top 10 in doubles rankings.
At the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, Neal and Desirae Krawczyk won the mixed doubles title again. This was his second Wimbledon mixed doubles championship. He then climbed to the top 5 in doubles rankings. In August 2022, Neal and Wesley Koolhof won another Masters 1000 title at the Canadian Open. They also reached the final of the US Open. In November 2022, they won their third Masters 1000 title at the Paris Masters. This incredible year led Neal Skupski to become the World No. 1 in doubles on November 14, 2022, alongside Wesley Koolhof. They also finished the year as the No. 1 team.
In 2023, Neal and Wesley Koolhof continued their strong performance. They reached the final of the Indian Wells Masters. Neal won his first men's doubles Grand Slam title at the Wimbledon Championships with Wesley Koolhof. This victory also helped him return to the World No. 1 ranking.
In 2024, Neal and Desirae Krawczyk reached two Grand Slam mixed doubles finals. They were runners-up at the Australian Open and the French Open. Neal also won two ATP 500 titles with Michael Venus at the Queen's Club Championships and the Eastbourne International.
The year 2025 saw Neal partnering with Joe Salisbury. They reached the finals of the Qatar Open and the Barcelona Open. Neal also achieved his 300th win on the ATP Tour during the Barcelona Open. They were runners-up at the French Open and the US Open. At the end of 2025, they reached the final of the ATP Finals. For 2026, Neal started playing with Christian Harrison. They won the Australian Open men's doubles title, which was Neal's second Grand Slam men's doubles championship.
Playing for Great Britain
Neal has proudly represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup since 2019. He also competed for his country at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2021 and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Beyond the Main Tour
Neal has also played in World TeamTennis, a professional tennis league. He played for the California Dream in 2015. From 2016 to 2019, he played for the New York Empire. In 2020, he was part of the New York Empire team that won the King Trophy.
Neal's Life Off the Court
Neal is the younger brother of former tennis player Ken Skupski. They played together often until 2021. Neal is a big fan of Liverpool F.C., a famous football club. He sometimes even asked for their scores during his tennis matches!
