Hillhead (Scots: Hullheid, Scottish Gaelic: Ceann a' Chnuic) is a cool and lively area in Glasgow, Scotland. It's known as the heart of Glasgow's fashionable West End. You can find Hillhead north of Kelvingrove Park and south of the River Kelvin. Its western edge is Byres Road, and the River Kelvin forms its eastern and northern borders.

Hillhead's History
Hillhead used to be its own town, called a "police burgh," starting in 1869. A police burgh was like a small town with its own local government and police force. But as Glasgow grew bigger and bigger in the 1800s, Hillhead eventually became part of the city in 1891.

One of the most famous places in Hillhead is the University of Glasgow. It moved here in 1870 from its old spot. Because of the university, lots of students live in the area. Many teachers and staff from the university also live here. You might even find people who work for BBC Scotland, actors, writers, and students from other universities.
