Hina Khan (born October 2, 1987) is a famous Indian actress. She acts in Hindi and Punjabi movies and TV shows. Hina is known as one of the highest-paid TV actresses in India. Many people know her for playing Akshara Maheshwari Singhania in the popular TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai from 2009 to 2016. She has won many awards for her acting, including three ITA Awards.

After her role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Hina Khan became a runner-up in two big reality shows. She was the first runner-up in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2017. She also finished as the first runner-up in Bigg Boss 11 (2017–2018). Later, she played a popular villain character in the TV series Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 from 2018 to 2019.

Early Life and Education

Hina Khan was born on October 2, 1987, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. She grew up in a Kashmiri Muslim family. Her family includes her parents and her younger brother, Aamir Khan. Aamir runs a travel agency. Hina finished her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2009. She studied at the CCA School of Management in Gurgaon.

Starting Out and Becoming Famous (2008-2019)

In 2008, Hina Khan tried out for a singing reality show called Indian Idol. She made it to the top 30 contestants. Later, while studying in Delhi, her friends encouraged her to audition for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She got the part and moved to Mumbai.

Hina made her TV debut in 2009. She starred in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which is one of India's longest-running TV shows. She played the main character, Akshara Maheshwari Singhania. After eight years, she left the show in November 2016 to try new projects. Her acting in the series was highly praised and won her many awards.

In 2017, Hina joined the reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 on Colors TV. She was a contestant and ended up as the first runner-up. In the same year, she also took part in another Colors TV reality show, Bigg Boss 11. She was a celebrity contestant and again finished as the first runner-up.

In early 2018, Hina filmed a Punjabi music video with Sonu Thukral. It was released in March 2018. She also announced her first digital short film, 'SmartPhone', with actor Kunaal Roy Kapur. In July 2018, she appeared in Sonu Thukral's Punjabi music video "Bhasoodi". In October 2018, she got the role of Komolika, a villain in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She left the show in April 2019. In the same year, she signed her first movie, Lines, with actress Farida Jalal.

Growing Her Career (2019-Present)

On January 2, 2019, Hina signed another short film called Soulmate. In May 2019, she filmed for the short film "Wish List". In September, she started shooting for an Indo-Hollywood movie called 'The Country of the Blind'. In the same month, she signed a digital crime drama series called Damaged 2.

In January 2020, she signed a ZEE5 horror film. Hina also made a special appearance in the fifth season of Ekta Kapoor's Naagin. In February 2020, Hina made her big Bollywood movie debut with Hacked. In October 2020, Hina returned to Bigg Boss for its fourteenth season. She appeared as a "toofani senior" for the first two weeks.

In May 2021, Hina appeared in the music video for the T-Series song 'Patthar Wargi'. In June 2021, she appeared in her next song 'Baarish Ban Jana' with Shaheer Sheikh. This song was filmed in Kashmir. In September 2021, her music video 'Main bhi Barbaad' was released. In March 2022, she announced her new web series called Seven One, where she plays a police officer. In 2024, she made her Pollywood (Punjabi film industry) debut in Shinda Shinda No Papa.

Personal Life

Since 2014, Hina Khan has been dating Rocky Jaiswal. He was a supervising producer for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

In 2017, during the reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, she shared that she has asthma. In June 2024, Hina shared that she is dealing with a health challenge and is getting treatment for it.
