Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is an exciting video game that came out in 1992. It's based on the popular movie of the same name, but it lets you play through a new adventure! The game was released on several different game consoles, including the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Sega Genesis, Game Boy, DOS computers, and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

How the Game Was Made
When Was the Game Released?
The game was first shown to the public in October 1992. It came out for all three Nintendo consoles available at that time in late 1992. The Game Boy version was very similar to the NES version. The main differences were the black and white graphics and some changes to the game maps. The computer version (DOS) also came out in 1992. The Sega Genesis version was released a bit later, in 1993.
Finding the Game's Code
In June 2016, a video game developer named Frank Cifaldi made an interesting discovery. He found the original source code for the NES version of the game on an old hard drive. He then shared it with everyone online! He mentioned that the game's code was based on other games made by the same company, Imagineering, which were about The Simpsons.
A Cancelled Sequel
There was a plan for a sequel to the Game Boy version of the game. It was going to be called Home Alone 2: Lost In New York: Kevin's Dream and was set for release in 1994. However, this game was never released. The company that was making it, Unexpected Development, decided to change it. They reworked the game to be based on the Bobby's World cartoon show. This new version was also planned for 1995 but was never released either. The game files for both versions were later found and shared online in September 2020.
How to Play the Game
Playing as Kevin McCallister
In Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, you get to control Kevin McCallister. He's all alone in New York City and has to find his way around. You'll explore famous places like the Plaza Hotel, Central Park, and even Uncle Rob McCallister's townhouse. You'll also walk through the busy streets of New York.
Kevin's Moves and Weapons
Kevin has some cool moves to help him against enemies. He can use a "Slide" move, a "Flying Fist," and an even stronger "Super Flying Fist." For weapons, he has a "Dart gun." One special item Kevin can use is a "Necklace." If he uses it, walking enemies will slip and fall off the screen. This is a fun reference to a scene in the movie where Kevin uses pearls from a necklace to trip up people chasing him.
Power-Ups to Help You
As you play, you'll find different power-ups that help Kevin. These include "Pizza Slices," "Whole Pies," "Cookies," "Bells," "Candy Canes," and "After Shave." These items help Kevin stay strong and keep going on his adventure!
