Hye Park's Modeling Journey

How Hye Park Became Famous

Hye Park got her big chance in early 2005. A famous photographer named Steven Meisel took pictures of her for Italian Vogue magazine. This happened just before the Fall 2005 fashion shows. After this photoshoot, she walked in major shows in New York for designers like Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui.

Her biggest moment came when Miuccia Prada and Russell Marsh chose her for the Prada and Miu Miu shows. These shows took place during Milan Fashion Week. She was the first non-white model since Naomi Campbell in 1997 to walk for Prada. She was also the very first Asian model to ever walk for Prada. Getting booked for Prada is a huge step for any new model. After the Prada and Miu Miu shows, she was booked for many more shows in Paris. These included Balenciaga, Chloe, Lanvin, and Rochas.

Working with Top Designers and Photographers

Hye Park has walked the runway for many well-known designers. Some of these include Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Max Azria, Alexander McQueen, and Burberry. She has also worked with many famous photographers. These include Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Steven Klein, Annie Leibovitz, and Patrick Demarchelier. Her unique features are a small mole below her nose and her strong face shape.

Magazine Features and Campaigns

Hye Park has appeared in many fashion magazines around the world. These include different versions of Vogue (American, French, Italian, Chinese, and Korean). She has also been in Flair, Numero, Allure, and Harper's Bazaar.

She has also been the face of many international advertising campaigns. These include Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, H&M, M.A.C. Cosmetics, and GAP. She has also worked for Tiffany & Co and Marc Jacobs. In Korea, she was the face for brands like H&T and KeraSys. Hye Park can speak both English and Korean.

In 2011, during the Fall/Winter collections at Paris Fashion Week, Hye Park made history. She became the first Asian model to work for two French fashion brands, Balmain and Isabel Marant. These brands were known for usually hiring only white models.

Hye Park's Life Story

Hye Park was born in Seoul, South Korea. When she was a young teenager, her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States. She was discovered in 2004 at an open casting call. At the time, she was attending the University of Utah.

When Hye Park started modeling in Fall 2005, she was one of the few Asian models in high fashion. Vogue magazine even named her one of the top 10 models. Her rise in the fashion world, along with other East Asian supermodels like Du Juan and Anne Watanabe, showed a new interest in Asian models in the Western world.

In June 2008, Hye Park married her boyfriend. They had been together for three years.
