"I'll Always Remember You" is a very important episode of the TV show Hannah Montana. It's the ninth episode of the fourth season, and the 94th episode overall. This special one-hour episode first aired on November 7, 2010. It was written by Andrew Green and Maria Brown-Gallenberg.
This episode is famous because it's the first time Miley Stewart tells everyone her big secret: that she is the pop star Hannah Montana! It also features three new songs: "Barefoot Cinderella", "I'll Always Remember You", and "Wherever I Go." After this episode, Miley Stewart becomes the main focus of the show. Hannah Montana and Lola Luftnagle are not seen in later episodes.

The Story of the Episode
Miley's Secret and Jesse
Miley's boyfriend, Jesse, visits her and reveals he knows her secret. He knows she is Hannah Montana! Miley is happy he knows. She asks him to be her guitarist again. But she worries about showing affection when she's Hannah. She fears people will think Jesse is cheating on one of them.
While Hannah performs on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jesse kisses her. Jay Leno calls them "America's new sweethearts." Later, Jesse is recognized at the pier. He hugs Miley, and a picture of them spreads everywhere. On Leno's show, it's announced that Jesse cheated on Hannah. Jesse gets upset messages from Hannah fans. He tells Miley he can't be with her if there are "two of her." So, they break up.
College Dreams and Challenges
Miley and Lilly get their college acceptance letters. Lilly gets into Stanford University, but Miley does not. Miley drives 200 miles to Stanford to find out why. The admissions woman says Miley has good grades and character. But she didn't have enough extra activities. Miley gets sad because she did many things. She just couldn't tell anyone because of her Hannah secret.
After driving home, Lilly has an idea. She suggests telling the admissions woman that Miley was Hannah's assistant. This way, Miley could explain her activities. On the way back to Stanford, Miley feels stressed. A vision of Dr. Phil appears, representing her worried thoughts. When they arrive, Miley learns she needs proof of employment. She drives home again to change into Hannah Montana.
As Hannah, she learns that a celebrity like her would be admitted. But only if she had Miley's grades. Hannah thinks about taking off her wig. But she decides not to. She returns home feeling disappointed.
The Big Decision
Lilly then decides to wait a year for college. She wants to wait until Miley can get in. Jesse comes over and makes up with Miley. In her room, Miley talks to her conscience, which looks like Hannah. She thinks about how her friends and family have changed their lives for her secret. Jesse and Lilly also tell her they've had to make sacrifices.
Miley talks with her dad. She looks at all her Hannah outfits. She remembers all the fun times she had as Hannah. She makes up her mind. She talks to "Hannah" one last time. Hannah says goodbye, and Miley thanks her. Miley decides to leave Hannah behind.
She appears on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno again. She has something important to say. She tells everyone that the eleven-year-old girl who wanted to be a rock star and have a normal life no longer wants to pretend. She takes off her Hannah wig and sings a song as Miley. To show their support, Robby takes off his manager mustache. Lilly takes off her Lola wig. Together, they say goodbye to their secret identities too.
Special Narration
This episode has special background commentary. It's like a story told by Jackson, Rico, and Siena. They don't appear in the episode itself. Instead, they talk directly to the audience. They do this in eight funny performances. For example, they sing like Alvin and the Chipmunks as mice. They also perform as silver living statues at the Santa Monica Pier. They sing different types of songs, like show tunes and old-time music. At the end, they sing a lullaby as babies. They list everyone who knew Miley's secret before she told the world.
