Ikhsan bin Fandi Ahmad (born 9 April 1999), known as Ikhsan Fandi, is a professional footballer from Singapore. He plays as a forward or winger. Currently, he plays for Thai League 1 club Ratchaburi on loan from BG Pathum United. He also plays for the Singapore national team. Many people think he is one of Singapore's best strikers.
Ikhsan started his football journey in youth academies, following in his famous father's footsteps. He played for the National Football Academy (NFA). He then had trials at different clubs before becoming a professional player at 17. His first professional club was Home United in 2016. Later, he joined Young Lions in 2017. After that, he moved to Norway to play for Raufoss IL and FK Jerv, scoring 16 goals in total. In 2021, he returned to Asia and signed with Thailand's BG Pathum United.
Ikhsan holds a special record in the Thai League. He scored four goals in just eleven minutes against PT Prachuap on 5 April 2022. This was the fastest four goals scored by a player in the league's history. He is also the first Singaporean player to score in the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League, a big Asian football competition.

About Ikhsan Fandi's Life
Ikhsan was born on 9 April 1999 in Singapore. His father is Fandi Ahmad, a famous Singaporean football player. His mother is Wendy Jacobs, a former model from South Africa.
Ikhsan has four siblings. His older brother, Irfan, plays for Port. His younger brother, Ilhan, is his teammate at BG Pathum United. His youngest brother, Iryan, plays for Young Lions. He also has a sister named Iman, who is a singer, actress, and model.
Ikhsan's grandfather, Ahmad Wartam, was also a national goalkeeper. Growing up in a family of footballers, Ikhsan started playing football very early. He went to the Singapore Sports School. He also earned a diploma in sports management in 2016.
Ikhsan's Club Journey
Starting in Youth Teams
In March 2013, Ikhsan and his older brother Irfan had a chance to try out for Hércules, a professional club in Spain. However, they could not get contracts because of visa problems.
Later in 2013, the brothers signed two-year contracts with a Chilean team called Barnechea. After that, Ikhsan and Irfan joined another Chilean club, Universidad Católica.
Playing for Home United
Ikhsan came back to Singapore and joined Home United in 2016, along with his brother Irfan. He played his first senior game in a 2–2 draw against Warriors FC. He came on as a substitute late in the game. During this time, he was also doing his National Service (NS), so he only played in 4 games that season and did not score any goals.
Time with Young Lions
In 2017, Ikhsan moved to Young Lions, a team for young players under 23. He made his debut for them on 23 April 2017 against Tampines Rovers. He played 10 league games for Young Lions while serving his National Service.
Ikhsan scored his first professional goal in a game against Hougang United. He also helped set up another goal in that match. He stayed with Young Lions for the 2018 Singapore Premier League season and scored 8 goals during his time there.
Moving to Norway: Raufoss IL
In January 2019, Ikhsan went to Norway for trials with different clubs. He did well and was offered a two-year contract with Raufoss IL, a team that had just been promoted to the Norwegian First Division. He played his first game for Raufoss in a friendly match on 12 January. He scored his first goal for the club in another friendly on 25 January 2019.
Ikhsan made his league debut on 8 April 2019. He scored five goals in three starts between May and June. He finished his first season with Raufoss with 6 goals and 1 assist in 28 matches.
In March 2020, another Norwegian club, IK Start, invited Ikhsan for a trial. He scored in a friendly match for them. The coach was impressed, but a transfer did not happen because of the COVID-19 pandemic and disagreements on contract terms. Ikhsan scored his first goal of the 2020–21 season on 30 August 2020. He played 11 matches for Raufoss in 2020, scoring once, and wanted to move to a new club.
Playing for FK Jerv
On 5 October 2020, Ikhsan moved from Raufoss IL to another Norwegian team, FK Jerv. He signed a contract until 2022. He made his debut just two days later. He scored his first goal for Jerv in his first full game on 10 October 2020, against his old club Raufoss. He scored again in his next game, helping his new team win.
On 24 October 2020, Ikhsan scored two more goals for FK Jerv in his fifth game. On 14 December 2020, he scored his fifth goal for the club in the last game of the 2020 season. He called this goal the "most important of his career" because it helped FK Jerv stay in the Norwegian second division.
On 13 June 2021, Ikhsan scored his first goal of the 2021 season after returning from an injury. He helped set up his club's winning goal in that game. On 23 June 2021, he scored again in his first start since his injury. The 2021 season ended with FK Jerv being promoted to the top Norwegian league, Eliteserien. Ikhsan was very happy and proud of his club's achievement.
Moving to BG Pathum United
2021–22 Season
After his good performances in Norway, many clubs in Asia became interested in Ikhsan. On 22 December 2021, Thai League 1 champions BG Pathum United announced that Ikhsan had joined their club. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.
On 6 April 2022, Ikhsan scored his first hat-trick for the club, netting 4 goals in a league game against PT Prachuap. His 4 goals in 11 minutes were the second fastest four-goal haul in top-flight league football in the 21st century.
On 24 April 2022, Ikhsan scored his first goals in Asia's biggest club competition, the AFC Champions League. He scored two goals against United City in the group stage. This helped his club win 3–1 and secure their top spot in the group.
2022–23 Season
On 6 August 2022, Ikhsan won his first trophy with BG Pathum United. He scored a goal in the 38th minute to help his team win the 2022 Thailand Champions Cup with a 3–2 victory.
On 19 August 2022, Ikhsan and his brother Irfan made history. They became the first Singaporeans to reach the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League. Their club beat Kitchee SC 4–0, and Ikhsan scored one of the goals with a powerful shot.
2023–24 Season
On 2 December 2023, Ikhsan returned to play after a long injury. He came on as a substitute and helped his team come back from 2–0 down to win 3–2. In the next game on 9 December, he scored a header to seal a 2–1 win. On 9 March 2024, Ikhsan scored two goals against Sukhothai in a big 7–1 home win. He scored another two goals on 6 April 2024 against Chiangrai United, helping his club win 3–2. He scored 11 goals in 25 games during the 2023–24 season. On 1 June 2024, Ikhsan signed a new three-year contract with BG Pathum United.
On 16 June 2024, Ikhsan won his second trophy with the club, the 2023–24 Thai League Cup. He played the whole match as his team won 1–0.
2024–25 Season
After being injured for almost five months, Ikhsan returned to action on 24 November 2024. In his second match on 1 December against Bangkok United, Ikhsan came on at half-time. He scored a very important goal in the 90+2' minute, securing a 1–0 win for his team.
Loan to Ratchaburi
On 8 June 2025, it was announced that Ikhsan was loaned to another Thai League 1 club, Ratchaburi. He will play for them until the end of the 2025–26 season.
Playing for Singapore
Youth Teams
Ikhsan was part of the Singapore U16 team that won third place in the Lion City Cup in 2015. He scored two goals against Liverpool U15.
He was called up to the Singapore U22 team for the 2017 SEA Games. He scored a penalty against India and two powerful goals against Brunei in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers. He played all four games for the team at the 2017 SEA Games and scored one goal.
Senior National Team
Ikhsan was called up to the senior national team for a friendly against Hong Kong in 2017. He made his debut in that game. He scored his first international goal on 7 September 2018 against Mauritius. He scored his second goal in the next game against Fiji. He scored his third goal against Cambodia.
Ikhsan played in his first AFF Championship in 2018. He scored two goals in a 6–1 win against Timor-Leste. He scored his eighth goal for Singapore in a World Cup qualification match against Yemen.
In 2021, Ikhsan was called up to the national team with his brothers, Irfan and Ilhan. This was the first time all three brothers were called up together. However, Ikhsan had to withdraw due to a knee injury.
On 25 December 2021, in a semi-final match against Indonesia, Ikhsan had to play as a goalkeeper in the 119th minute. This happened after Singapore's goalkeeper was sent off and they had no more substitutes. Ikhsan saved a free kick and did not let in any goals. He became famous for his brave performance as a goalkeeper.
On 26 March 2022, Ikhsan played alongside his brothers Irfan and Ilhan against Malaysia. This was the first time that three brothers played together for the Singapore national team in an international professional football game. Ikhsan scored two goals, helping Singapore win 2–1.
Ikhsan scored his first international hat-trick on 14 June 2022, helping Singapore win 6–2 against Myanmar. This brought his total to 16 goals in 31 matches for Singapore. He scored his 17th goal from a free kick in a 1–1 draw against India.
Ikhsan missed the 2022 AFF Championship because of a serious knee injury he got in a friendly match on 17 December 2022.
On 21 November 2023, Ikhsan returned to football after his long injury. He came on as a substitute in a World Cup qualification match against Thailand. On 11 June 2024, he scored a powerful goal from outside the box against Thailand. Even though Singapore lost 3–1, his goal was important because it ended Thailand's hopes of moving to the next round.
In his return to the national team after a year, Ikhsan scored two goals in a 3–1 friendly win against Maldives on 5 June 2025. On 10 June 2025, he scored another goal against Bangladesh in a 2–1 win.
Ikhsan's Life Outside Football
Ikhsan completed his National Service (NS) in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) from 2016 to 2018. During this time, he was still able to play and train as a professional footballer. This was thanks to a special program that helps athletes balance their sports careers with their national duties.
Besides football, Ikhsan enjoys swimming and visiting Sentosa island. His favorite local breakfast is two egg pratas.
Ikhsan has a sponsorship deal with the sports brand Adidas.
