The Mauritius national football team is often called Club M or Les Dodos. They represent the island nation of Mauritius in football. The team is managed by the Mauritius Football Association. This association is part of FIFA, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and COSAFA. The current head coach is Guillaume Moullec.
The team's biggest achievements include playing in the 1974 African Cup of Nations. They also won the Indian Ocean Island Games football tournament in 1985 and 2003. They were finalists in this competition in 1990, 2011, and 2019.

Team History
Early Football Years
Mauritius played its first international game in 1947. They won 2–1 against Réunion. For about 20 years, they mostly played against Réunion and Madagascar. This was likely because these islands are close to each other. They played in friendly matches and the Indian Ocean Games Triangulaire. This competition ran from 1947 to 1963. Mauritius won it ten times, came in second twice, and third once.
1960s to 1990s Football
In 1967, Mauritius started playing against more countries. They joined competitions like the Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. However, they did not have much success. They have never played in the World Cup finals. But they did qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations once, in 1974. They were eliminated in the first round.
Mauritius won the Indian Ocean Games again in 1985. In 1999, football in Mauritius faced a tough time. Riots happened after a controversial penalty in a championship game. This led to all local football being stopped for 18 months. Only the national team was allowed to play. Many people believe this event caused Mauritian football to decline.
2000s to Today
In the new millennium, the team's performance got worse. Their FIFA ranking dropped from 116th in 2000 to a low of 195th in 2011.
A highlight was in 2003 when Mauritius won the Indian Ocean Island Games. They won on their home soil with coach Akbar Patel. They also beat Uganda 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier in November 2003. However, Uganda still moved forward. In January 2004, Mauritius reached the quarterfinals of the 2004 COSAFA Cup. They beat South Africa 2–0. They then lost 3–1 to Zambia.
After this, the team struggled. They had some of their biggest losses and few wins. Many different coaches have led the team, but none have had lasting success.
During the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, Les Dodos had better results. They defeated Mozambique and Rwanda. But they could not continue this success. They lost to Comoros and São Tomé and Príncipe in later qualifiers. In the 2023 AFCoN qualifiers, Mauritius lost to São Tomé. A decision by CAF to award Mauritius a win was later reversed.
In 2023, Mauritius had impressive wins against Kenya (1-0) and Angola (1-0). Kenya was in the top 100 FIFA rankings. However, in the 2025 AFCoN qualifiers, Mauritius lost to Chad. This means they have not reached the group stage of the qualification round in four attempts.
