Jacob Tremblay (born October 5, 2006) is a talented Canadian actor. He became well-known for his role as a child named Jack in the movie Room (2015). For this role, he won the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. He also became the youngest person ever nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
Jacob later starred as a child with a special facial condition in the drama Wonder (2017). He also played a funny sixth grader in the comedy Good Boys (2019). He has also lent his voice to many animated characters. These include Damian Wayne / Robin in Harley Quinn (2019), the main characters in Luca (2021) and Orion and the Dark (2024). His voice work in Orion and the Dark earned him an Emmy Award. He also voiced Flounder in The Little Mermaid (2023).

Jacob Tremblay was born on October 5, 2006, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is the middle child in his family. His father works as a police detective. Jacob has two sisters, Erica and Emma Tremblay, who are also actresses. His grandfather on his mother's side is from Chile.

Jacob Tremblay started his acting career with roles on television. His first movie was The Smurfs 2, which came out in 2013.
Breakthrough Role in Room
In 2015, Jacob played Jack Newsome in the highly praised drama film Room. He starred alongside actress Brie Larson. The movie was directed by Lenny Abrahamson. It was first shown on September 4, 2015, and then released in cinemas on October 16, 2015. Jacob's performance in Room was amazing. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2015. This made him the youngest actor ever nominated for that award.
Other Movies and TV Shows
In 2016, Jacob appeared in the comedy film Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal: The Movie. He also played a younger version of the main character, Phil Miller, in the TV show The Last Man on Earth. That same year, he starred in the horror film Before I Wake. He also had a role in the thriller Shut In with Naomi Watts. Jacob also played Wes Firth in the adventure movie Burn Your Maps.
In 2017, Jacob played Peter Carpenter in the film The Book of Henry. He starred with Naomi Watts and Maddie Ziegler. He also played August Pullman in Wonder. In this movie, August is a child with Treacher Collins syndrome, a condition that affects facial features. Wonder was very successful, earning a lot of money at the box office.
In 2019, Jacob tried comedy with the movie Good Boys. He starred with Brady Noon and Keith L. Williams. Good Boys did very well in its opening weekend.
Voice Acting and Recent Work
In July 2019, it was announced that Jacob would be the voice of Flounder in the live-action movie The Little Mermaid. He also voices Robin in the animated series Harley Quinn. In October 2020, he appeared in the music video for Justin Bieber's song "Lonely".
Jacob provided the voice for the main character in the Pixar animated film Luca, which was released in 2021. He also voiced Orion Mendelson in the 2024 animated film Orion and the Dark, for which he won an Emmy Award.
Jacob's Life Outside Acting
Jacob Tremblay lives in Langley, British Columbia, with his family. He is a big fan of the Star Wars movies. He even named his dog Rey, after Daisy Ridley's character in Star Wars. His excitement when the characters C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 appeared at the 88th Academy Awards ceremony was a memorable moment for many.
