Jacob Tremblay (born October 5, 2006) is a talented Canadian actor. He became famous for his role as a child in the movie Room (2015). For this role, he won the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. He also became the youngest person ever nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Later, Jacob starred as a child with a special facial condition in the drama Wonder (2017). He also played a funny sixth grader in the comedy Good Boys (2019). Jacob has also used his voice for many animated characters. He voiced Robin in Harley Quinn (2019). He was the main character in Luca (2021) and Orion and the Dark (2024). He also voiced Flounder in The Little Mermaid (2023).

Jacob Tremblay was born on October 5, 2006, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is the middle child of three. His father works as a police detective. Jacob has two sisters, Erica and Emma Tremblay, who are also actresses.

Jacob started his acting journey with roles on television. His first movie was The Smurfs 2, which came out in 2013.
Breakthrough Role in Room
In 2015, Jacob played Jack Newsome in the movie Room. He starred alongside Brie Larson. The film was directed by Lenny Abrahamson. It first showed at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2015. It was released in cinemas in October 2015. Jacob's performance earned him a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award. This made him the youngest actor ever nominated in that category.
Other Roles in 2016
In 2016, Jacob appeared in the comedy film Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal: The Movie. He also played a younger version of the main character in the TV show The Last Man on Earth. That same year, he starred in the horror movie Before I Wake. He also had a role in the thriller Shut In. Jacob also played Wes Firth in the adventure movie Burn Your Maps.
Success with Wonder and Good Boys
In 2017, Jacob played Peter Carpenter in the film The Book of Henry. He starred with Naomi Watts and Maddie Ziegler. He also played August Pullman in Wonder. This movie was based on a popular book. Wonder became a very successful movie. It earned over $285 million worldwide.
In 2019, Jacob tried comedy with the movie Good Boys. He starred with Brady Noon and Keith L. Williams. Good Boys made $21 million on its first weekend. It was the first comedy movie in a long time to be number one at the box office.
Voice Acting and Recent Projects
Jacob's acting skills impressed many, even in a small role in Doctor Sleep. The director, Mike Flanagan, called him "one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with."
In 2019, it was announced that Jacob would voice Flounder. This was for the live-action Disney movie The Little Mermaid. He also voices Robin in the animated series Harley Quinn. In 2020, he appeared in Justin Bieber's music video for the song "Lonely".
Jacob also lent his voice to the main character in the Pixar film Luca.
