Jade Anouka (born June 12, 1989) is a talented English actress. She is well-known for her many roles on stage. You might also recognize her from TV shows like His Dark Materials on BBC One. She also appeared in the ITV dramas Trauma and Cleaning Up.

Early Life and Education
Jade Anouka was born in London, England. She is the middle child of three. Her mother was a maths teacher from Trinidad. Her father was a mortgage advisor from Jamaica. Jade has a brother and a sister who both chose careers in science.
She grew up in Slade Green and went to school in Bexley, London. Later, she moved to a school in Lewisham for her final years of high school, known as sixth form in the UK. Before this, she was a runner on a track team. She decided to switch schools so she wouldn't have to compete against her old teammates.
Jade first started acting at a Saturday morning drama club in Dartford, Kent. While in sixth form, she earned a special scholarship to the National Youth Theatre. After that, she studied acting at the Guildford School of Acting. Right after she graduated, the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon hired her. There, she even earned a special award for teaching about Shakespeare.
Acting Career
Jade Anouka began her acting career on stage in 2007. Her first role was in a play called The Penelopiad. In 2011, she was praised for her performance as Ophelia in the play Hamlet at Shakespeare's Globe theatre.
She also had small roles in popular TV shows. These included Doctor Who (in 2013), Chewing Gum (in 2015), and Stan Lee's Lucky Man. Later, she got a bigger role in the TV series Trauma in 2018. In 2020, she appeared in an episode of Death in Paradise.
Awards and Recognitions
In 2014, Jade won the Stage Award for Acting Excellence. She received this award for her amazing one-woman show called Chef. She performed this show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2015, she brought the show to London for special performances.
Jade was part of a special series of Shakespeare plays directed by Phyllida Lloyd. These plays featured only female actors. Jade played important roles like Mark Antony in Julius Caesar. She also played Hotspur in Henry IV and Ariel in The Tempest. These plays were performed in London and New York. Her performances in these three plays received great reviews. The plays were even shown on the BBC in 2018. In the same year, she was named one of the "BAFTA Breakout Stars" by InStyle magazine. This meant she was recognized as a rising star in the acting world.
In 2019, Jade Anouka appeared in Cleaning Up, a six-part drama on ITV. She also joined the Netflix series Turn Up Charlie. In August 2020, she announced that she would play Ruta Skadi in the second season of the BBC/HBO fantasy drama His Dark Materials.
Poetry and Future Projects
Besides acting, Jade Anouka also performs her own poetry on stage. In 2016, she published a book of her poems called Eggs on Toast.
In 2021, it was announced that Jade would star in a play called Cock in London in 2022. She performed alongside actors like Jonathan Bailey and Taron Egerton.
Personal Life
On December 14, 2021, Jade Anouka shared that she had given birth to a daughter. In May 2022, Jade married musician Grace Savage. On February 25, 2024, Jade announced that she and her wife had welcomed another baby.
