Jiffy Lube Live is a large outdoor concert venue in Bristow, Virginia. It's located in Prince William County, Virginia, about 35 miles west of Washington, D.C.. This big amphitheater is a popular spot for concerts and other events.

Live Nation owns and operates the venue. It can hold a lot of people, about 25,262 in total. This includes 10,444 seats that you can reserve. Plus, there's a big lawn area where 14,818 people can relax and enjoy the show. Jiffy Lube Live was originally known as the Nissan Pavilion.

History of the Venue

How Jiffy Lube Live Began

The idea for this concert venue came from a company called Cellar Door Productions. Before Jiffy Lube Live opened, there were some community concerns. People were worried about large concerts at a nearby stadium.

At the same time, the Walt Disney company wanted to build a theme park in the area. Many local people were not happy about this plan. Because of these concerns, authorities decided to allow the concert pavilion instead. The location was chosen because it was close to a major highway. It could also handle many people over several days.

The amphitheater first opened its doors in June 1995. The very first show featured popular groups like The Village People, Laura Branigan, Rose Royce, and The Trammps.

Special Events and Name Change

On July 24, 2004, the famous hard rock band Kiss performed here. They even recorded their concert for a live DVD called Rock the Nation Live!.

In 2008, Barack Obama held a big rally at the venue. This was part of his campaign to become president of the United States. It was a very important event for the community.

On January 8, 2010, the venue's name changed. It went from "Nissan Pavilion" to "Jiffy Lube Live." This happened because of a business agreement between Live Nation and Jiffy Lube.

Parking Rules and Safety

In 2011, the venue announced new rules for its parking lots. They said that "tailgating" (having parties in the parking lot before concerts) would not be allowed. This was done for safety reasons, working with the local police.

However, in January 2012, the venue changed its mind. They announced that tailgating would be allowed again. They also posted a clear set of rules on their website to keep everyone safe.
