Joseph Adam Swash (born in 1982) is a popular British actor and TV presenter from London. He is famous for playing Mickey Miller in the BBC show EastEnders. Joe has also hosted many shows for ITV2. He won I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2008 and Dancing on Ice in 2020.

Joe Swash went to Highbury Grove School in Islington. He also studied acting at the Anna Scher Theatre School.
Joe Swash's Acting and Presenting Career
Starting Out in TV and Film
Joe Swash first appeared on TV when he was just seven years old. It was in an advertisement for Andrex. In 1991, at age nine, he played a boy pretending to be an orphan in You Rang, M'Lord?.
When he was eleven, he was in the movie The Adventures of Pinocchio. He played a character called "The Fighting Boy". This character turned into a donkey after a roller coaster ride. Joe also had small parts in shows like Casualty and The Bill. In 2002, he was part of an ITV show called Club Reps.
Becoming Famous on EastEnders
Joe Swash was almost ready to stop acting when he got a role in EastEnders. He was cast as Mickey Miller and first appeared in April 2003. Viewers really liked Mickey, so the show's producer made him a regular character.
Mickey's family, including his sister Demi (played by Joe's real sister, Shana), joined the show a year later. Joe's son, Harry, even played Mickey's niece for a short time. In 2008, it was announced that Joe would be leaving EastEnders. He made his last appearance in July 2008.
Joe has said he would like to return to the show. He did come back for two episodes in September 2011. He also returned for two episodes in December 2024.
Winning I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
In November 2008, Joe Swash went to the Australian jungle. He was a contestant on the reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. Joe won the show, becoming the "King of the Jungle".
From 2009, Joe became a presenter for the show's spin-off series. It was first called I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, NOW!. He worked with other presenters like Caroline Flack and Laura Whitmore.
In 2016, the show changed its name to I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp. Joe continued to host it with people like Stacey Solomon and Joel Dommett. In 2019, Joe announced he was leaving the show.
Skating to Victory on Dancing on Ice
In January 2020, Joe Swash joined Dancing on Ice as a contestant. He was first partnered with Alexandra Schauman. Later, he was re-partnered with Alex Murphy. Joe and Alex worked hard and won the series! They beat Perri Kiely in the final.
Other Fun TV Appearances
Joe Swash has been on many other TV shows. In 2009, he was a team captain on Hole in the Wall. In 2010, he was a captain on What Do Kids Know?.
In 2011, Joe hosted a children's show called Gimme A Break on the CBBC Channel. He also presented Driving Academy on CBBC. In 2014, a celebrity version of Celebrity Driving Academy aired.
From 2013 to 2014, Joe was a regular team captain on the ITV2 show Fake Reaction. In 2016, he was a contestant on The Jump. In 2021, Joe reached the final three on Celebrity Masterchef. In 2023, he appeared in I'm a Celebrity... South Africa.
Theatre Roles
Joe Swash has also performed in theatre shows. He played Buttons in the pantomime Cinderella. He also appeared in the pantomime 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' in Bristol.
Breaking a World Record
In 2009, Joe Swash and TV presenter Tim Vincent broke a Guinness World Record. They threw the most pancakes to a partner on The Paul O'Grady Show.
Joe Swash's Personal Life
In 2005, Joe Swash had to take a break from EastEnders because he was unwell.
Joe has a son from a previous relationship. He started dating Stacey Solomon in January 2016. They had met on I'm a Celebrity years before. In 2019, they welcomed their first child together, a boy.
Joe and Stacey got engaged in December 2020. In July 2021, they announced they were expecting a baby girl, who was born in October 2021. They got married on July 24, 2022, at their home in Essex. In February 2023, they welcomed their second daughter.
