Jordan Hendry (born February 23, 1984) is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He played the defence position in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks. One of the biggest moments of his career was winning the famous Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010.

From College to the Pros

Jordan Hendry's path to the NHL was a bit different from many other players. He wasn't chosen in the NHL draft, where teams pick young talent. Instead, he worked hard to prove himself. He played college hockey for four years at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. His team was part of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).

After finishing college, Hendry signed his first professional contract on March 18, 2006. He joined the Norfolk Admirals, a team in the AHL. The AHL is a league where many players develop their skills before moving up to the NHL.

His hard work paid off. On July 17, 2006, the Chicago Blackhawks, the parent club of the Admirals, signed Hendry to a two-year contract. He made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks during the 2007–08 season. The team was so impressed that they signed him for another two years in 2008.

Winning the Stanley Cup

The 2009-10 season was a dream come true for Hendry and the Chicago Blackhawks. On June 9, 2010, the team won the Stanley Cup, the most important trophy in professional hockey.

To celebrate this amazing achievement, Hendry brought the Stanley Cup back to his small hometown of Nokomis. People in his community were thrilled to see the famous trophy and get pictures and autographs with their hometown hero.

A Major Injury and a Comeback

Playing professional hockey can be tough on the body. On February 27, 2011, during a game against the Phoenix Coyotes, Hendry suffered a serious injury. A check from an opposing player sent him into the boards, and he tore the ACL in his left knee. The ACL is an important ligament that helps keep the knee stable. This injury ended his season early.

Despite the setback, Hendry was determined to return to the ice. After recovering, he continued his career. He played for several other teams, including a short time with the Houston Aeros in the AHL.

Playing in Europe and a Final NHL Stop

Hendry's career also took him to Europe. In November 2011, he signed with HC Lugano in Switzerland. Later, on July 1, 2012, he returned to North America and signed a contract with the Anaheim Ducks. He played two games for the Ducks in the NHL that season.

He went back to Europe for the 2013-14 season, playing for the Straubing Tigers in Germany. He finished his professional career playing in Sweden for the team AIK IF before retiring in 2015.
