Julie Chávez Rodriguez (born April 7, 1978) is an American political consultant. She has worked for important leaders in the United States government. She was the campaign manager for President Joe Biden's 2024 re-election campaign. She also served as a Senior Advisor to the President and as the Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Julie Chávez Rodriguez worked in the Obama administration from 2008 to 2016. She also worked for Senator Kamala Harris and later for President Joe Biden.

Early Life and Education
Julie Chávez Rodriguez was born in Delano, California. She grew up in Tehachapi. Her family was very involved in helping workers. They were part of the United Farm Workers of America (UFWA) organization.
Family Background
Julie's parents are Linda Chávez Rodriguez and Arturo Rodriguez. Her grandparents were César Chávez and Helen Fabela Chávez. César Chávez was a famous American labor leader. He worked to improve conditions for farm workers.
Her parents were full-time volunteers for the UFWA. Julie often went to labor rallies with her family. She helped them with community activities for the UFWA.
School and College Years
Julie attended Tehachapi High School. After high school, she went to the University of California, Berkeley. She earned a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies in 2000.
During her summer breaks, Julie worked at the AFL–CIO. This is a large group of labor unions. She also volunteered with the UFWA. She helped organize strawberry pickers in Watsonville, California.

Serving in the Obama Administration
In 2008, Julie volunteered for Barack Obama's presidential campaign in Colorado. After Obama became president, she joined his administration in 2009.
She first worked as Director of Youth Employment. Later, she became Deputy Press Secretary for United States Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar.
From 2011 to 2017, Julie worked in the White House Office of Public Engagement. She was a deputy director and then a Special Assistant to the President. Working with Kamala Harris

She worked on the campaign until Harris stopped running in late 2019. Julie was a co-national political director and later the campaign's traveling chief of staff.
Roles in the Biden Administration
In 2020, Julie was hired by Joe Biden's presidential campaign. She was a senior advisor and led outreach to Latino communities. She was the highest-ranking Latina working for that campaign.
