Arjit Taneja is an Indian actor and model who stars in TV shows. He was born on November 10, 1992. Arjit first appeared on TV in a reality show called Splitsvilla 6. He has also acted in many popular TV dramas like Kumkum Bhagya, Kaleerein, Bahu Begum, and the Naagin series.

Early Life and Education

Arjit Taneja was born on November 10, 1992. He comes from a Punjabi family. He went to Modern School in Delhi. Later, he earned a degree in computer programming from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College at the University of Delhi. In 2012, Arjit moved from Delhi to Mumbai to start his acting career.

Acting Career Highlights

Starting Out in Television (2012–2014)

Arjit Taneja began his acting journey in Mumbai in mid-2012. His first role was in a TV show called V The Serial on Channel V India. This show was made by Ekta Kapoor.

In 2013, he joined the reality show MTV Splitsvilla 6 on MTV India. The next year, he took part in Box Cricket League on Sony TV. He also appeared in the show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.

Becoming a Popular Actor (2014–Present)

Arjit's career really took off in 2014. He got a big role as Purab Khanna in the popular Zee TV show Kumkum Bhagya. This show was also created by Ekta Kapoor. For his work, he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Zee Gold Awards. He left the show in 2016.

While working on Kumkum Bhagya, he also played Bilal Khan in another Ekta Kapoor show, Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, in 2015. In 2016, he hosted the show Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya on Zing.

In 2017, Arjit spent a few months in Indonesia. He starred in an Indonesian show called Nadin on ANTV. He acted alongside Mrunal Thakur, who was also in Kumkum Bhagya.

After returning to Bombay, Arjit got his first main role in a TV show. In February 2018, he started playing Vivaan Kapoor in Zee TV's Kaleerein. The show finished in November 2018. He also appeared as a guest on the Zee TV talk show Juzz Baatt in May 2018.

In July 2019, Arjit became the main male actor in Colors TV's Bahu Begum. He played Azaan Akhtar Mirza, the Nawab of Bhopal. The show ended in January 2020.

In January 2021, Arjit had a special role as Farishta, an angel, in the supernatural show Naagin 5. He played this role again in February 2021 in Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein. Both shows were on Colors TV and made by Ekta Kapoor.

Arjit then took on the main role of Shambhu Thakur in Nath – Zewar Ya Zanjeer on Dangal TV. The show started in August 2021. However, Arjit decided to leave the show after a few months. He felt his role was not developing as he hoped. His last episode aired in March 2022.

In March 2022, Arjit was a contestant on Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan on Colors TV. He was one of the people trying to impress actress Parineeti Chopra. He showed off his cooking skills by making her favorite 'Aloo Paratha'. He also won a Bollywood quiz.

In April 2022, Arjit returned to play Farishta again in Naagin 6 on Colors TV.

In September 2022, Arjit joined the StarPlus show Banni Chow Home Delivery. He played a 'Rockstar' named Agastya Kapoor. Arjit said he was looking for a role that would challenge him. His first episode was on September 14, 2022. He left the show in December 2022.

In February 2023, Arjit worked with Sanaya Irani on a web series called Butterflies Season 4 EP 5 Upgrade. In April 2023, he made a guest appearance on Colors TV's Entertainment Ki Raat Housefull.

Also in April 2023, he participated in the adventure reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. In July 2023, he had a small role in Karan Johar's movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Arjit also starred in the web series Fuh Se Fantasy opposite Nyra Banerjee. The second season premiered in August 2023. In October 2023, the Grand Finale of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 aired. Arjit Taneja finished as the 1st runner-up.

From November 2023 to May 2025, he played Virat Singh Ahuja in Zee TV's Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye. He acted alongside Sriti Jha, who was also his co-star in Kumkum Bhagya. Since June 2025, he has been playing Rishi Chatterjee in StarPlus's Jhanak with Riya Sharma.
