Keon Kelly Daniel (born on January 16, 1987, in Lambeau) is a former professional football player from Trinidad and Tobago. He played as a midfielder, which is a player who helps both defend and attack on the field.

Playing Career Highlights
Starting His Football Journey
Keon Daniel grew up in Tobago and went to Signal Hill Secondary School. He also trained at the St Clair Coaching School to improve his football skills. In 2005, he even had a two-week trial with the famous English club Manchester United.
After this, Keon became a professional player. In 2006, he joined United Petrotrin, a team in the TT Pro League, which is the top football league in Trinidad and Tobago.
Moving to New Teams
In August 2008, Keon had another trial in England, this time with West Ham United. Later, in 2009, he joined another team in his home country's league, Caledonia AIA.
In May 2010, Keon moved to the Puerto Rico Islanders. This team played in the USSF D2 Pro League, a professional league in the United States. He played his first game for them on June 26, 2010.
Playing in Major League Soccer
Before the 2011 Major League Soccer (MLS) season began, Keon tried out for the Philadelphia Union. MLS is the highest level of professional soccer in the United States and Canada. He did very well in his trial and signed with the Union on March 18, 2011.
In his first season, Keon was even named to the MLS Team of the Week for his great performance in a game. He scored his first goal for Philadelphia on June 11, 2011, during an MLS match.
The "Free Keon" Story
In September 2011, Keon left Philadelphia temporarily to play for the Trinidad and Tobago national football team. However, he faced a problem: his visa expired, and he couldn't return to the United States until February 2012. This situation led to a fun phrase among Philadelphia Union fans called "Free Keon." Fans would use this phrase at games and online to show their support and wish for his quick return.
Playing in Poland
In 2014, it was announced that Keon Daniel would join Miedź Legnica. This team plays in the I liga (Poland), which is a professional football league in Poland. He moved there from the Philadelphia Union.
Representing His Country
Playing for Trinidad and Tobago
Keon Daniel first played for the Trinidad and Tobago national football team in 2007. This means he represented his country in international football matches. He scored his first goal for his country in January 2008 against Guyana. His second goal came in March 2008 against El Salvador. Both of these goals were scored from free kicks, which are special shots given after a foul.
Keon was an important part of the Trinidad and Tobago teams that played in several big tournaments. These included the Caribbean Cup in 2008, 2010, and 2012. He also played in multiple CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments and in the qualifying matches for the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
