Kirk David Morrison (born February 19, 1982) is a former American football player. He was a talented linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Kirk played college football for the San Diego State Aztecs. He was chosen by the Oakland Raiders in the 2005 NFL draft. Morrison also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills.

Kirk's Early Life and High School Football
Kirk Morrison grew up in Oakland, California. He went to Sacred Heart elementary school, which is now called St. Martin de Porress. After finishing 8th grade, he attended Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland.
High School Sports Achievements
At O'Dowd, Kirk earned special awards for playing both football and participating in track and field. In football, he helped his team win two HAAL championships. They also won two Northern California section 3A championships. Kirk was named All-HAAL twice. In his senior year, he was even named the HAAL Defensive Player of the Year.
Playing Football in College
After high school, Kirk Morrison went to San Diego State University. He had a very successful college football career there. He was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year twice. This award goes to the best defensive player in the Mountain West Conference.

Playing for the Oakland Raiders
Kirk Morrison started his professional career with the Oakland Raiders. In his first year, he played in all 16 games. He made 116 tackles and helped stop two passes.
In the 2006 season, he led the team with 128 tackles. He also made a sack, scored a defensive touchdown, and caught two interceptions.
During the 2007 season, Kirk started strong. He caught an interception in each of his first three games. He led the Raiders again with 120 tackles. He also defended 10 passes and made another quarterback sack.
In 2008, Kirk Morrison was one of the top tacklers in the NFL. He ranked fifth with 135 tackles. He also caused two fumbles and made one sack.
For the 2009 season, he was tied for sixth in the NFL with 133 tackles. Even with a dislocated elbow for most of the season, he forced three fumbles and made two sacks.
Moving to the Jacksonville Jaguars
In 2010, Kirk Morrison was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played against his old team, the Oakland Raiders, on December 12, 2010. The Jaguars won that game 38–31.
Joining the Buffalo Bills
On August 24, 2011, Kirk signed with the Buffalo Bills. He played for them until December 3, 2012, when he was released. However, he was signed again by the Bills on December 20, 2012.
After Football: Becoming a Sports Announcer
After his playing career, Kirk Morrison started a new path in sports broadcasting. In March 2011, it was announced that he would be part of Fox Overtime on FoxSportsRadio.
In 2013, Kirk worked as a color analyst for San Diego State football games. He teamed up with play-by-play announcer Ted Leitner on "Mighty 1090" radio.
In August 2014, Kirk Morrison was named one of the analysts for NFL on Fox games. He would work with Dick Stockton to call games. On August 8, 2016, he announced he was joining ESPN Los Angeles. There, he covered Los Angeles Rams games. Since 2017, Kirk Morrison has been an analyst for ESPN's College Football coverage.
