Kit Sebastian Connor (born March 8, 2004) is an English actor. He became well-known for playing Nick Nelson in the Netflix TV show Heartstopper (which started in 2022). For this role, he won the first-ever Children's and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Performance.
Before Heartstopper, Kit Connor appeared in movies like Get Santa (2014), Rocketman (2019), and Little Joe (2019). He also had a regular role in the CBBC series Rocket's Island (2014–2015). He lent his voice to characters in the series His Dark Materials (2019–2022) and the movie The Wild Robot (2024). In 2024, he performed in a Broadway play called Romeo & Juliet. He also appeared in the movie Warfare (2025).

About Kit Connor's Early Life
Kit Sebastian Connor was born in Croydon, South London, on March 8, 2004. His parents, Richard and Caroline, work in advertising. He has an older sister and an older brother. Kit grew up in Purley. He went to Hayes Primary School in Kenley and then to Whitgift School in South Croydon. There, he studied drama, English literature, and history for his A Levels.
Kit Connor's Acting Career
Kit Connor started acting when he was eight years old. He had small parts in the TV show Chickens, the TV movie An Adventure in Space and Time, and the show Casualty.
Early Roles in Film and TV
In 2014, Kit starred as Tom Anderson in the holiday comedy movie Get Santa. He also played Archie Beckles in the CBBC series Rocket's Island. He had a recurring role as young Petya Rostov in the miniseries War & Peace. He also played Bob Sheehan in the miniseries SS-GB.
Kit made his first stage appearance in a play called Welcome Home, Captain Fox! at Donmar Warehouse. In 2018, he appeared in several movies: The Mercy, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and Slaughterhouse Rulez. He was also in the BBC One TV movie Grandpa's Great Escape. He played Alexander in the play Fanny & Alexander at the Old Vic Theatre.
Becoming a Star in Heartstopper
In 2019, Kit Connor played a teenage Elton John in the musical movie Rocketman. He also played Joe Woodard in the drama Little Joe. That same year, he began voicing Pantalaimon in the fantasy series His Dark Materials, which was on BBC One and HBO.
In April 2021, it was announced that Kit Connor would star with Joe Locke in the Netflix series Heartstopper. This show is based on the popular webcomic and graphic novel by Alice Oseman. Kit first tried out for the role of Charlie, but he ended up being cast as the other main character, Nick Nelson.
Recent and Upcoming Projects
In 2024, Kit Connor was part of the voice cast for DreamWorks Animation's The Wild Robot. This movie is based on Peter Brown's novel. He also made his Broadway debut playing Romeo. He starred opposite Rachel Zegler's Juliet in a musical version of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. This play was directed by Sam Gold with music by Jack Antonoff.
In 2025, Kit Connor appeared in Warfare, a war movie from A24. It was written and directed by Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza. In April 2025, it was announced that Kit Connor will star in a Heartstopper movie. This movie will be feature-length and will be the conclusion to the series. He will also help produce the film. In May 2025, it was announced that Kit Connor will star with Will Poulter and Manu Rios in a medieval zombie horror movie called Rapture. Kit Connor will also be in an upcoming movie based on the book A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey. He will also lead the cast of the mystery-horror film One of Us.
Kit Connor was named a 2023 Screen International Star of Tomorrow. In 2024, Forbes included Kit Connor on their 30 under 30 Europe list in the Entertainment category. He was also featured in Variety's Young Hollywood Impact Report and on The Hollywood Reporter's 2024 Next Gen Talent list.
