Kochas is a town in the Rohtas district of Bihar state, India. It's about 69 meters (226 feet) above sea level. A main road, National Highway 319, goes right through Kochas. The closest airport is Varanasi Airport, which is about 105 kilometers (65 miles) away.

One of the most famous cultural events in Kochas is Krishn Lila, also known as "Kans Lila." Other popular celebrations include Chhath Puja and Durga Puja. The Surya Mandir (Sun Temple) is a special landmark in Kochas. It sits in the middle of a pond called "Pokhara." The town was founded on October 1st.

Sports and Tournaments

Many sports tournaments are held in Kochas. The most popular one among young people is the Kochas Premier League, or KPL. The KPL started in 2021. It was organized by KPL Committee Members, led by an engineer named Rakesh Ranjan. He is very active in social activities and wants to make Kochas a better place to live.

The KPL Season 1 started with cricket in March 2021. Now, the KPL organizers plan to hold many other sports tournaments. These include cricket, football, volleyball, tug-of-war, and kabaddi. The KPL Season 1 cricket tournament involved 16 different areas (wards) of Kochas Nagar Panchayat. Ward No 15 was the winner of Season 1. In 2011, all villages in the Kochas area had access to drinking water. However, only three villages had tap water. In most other places, people got their drinking water from wells and hand pumps. Kochas town itself had both electricity and telephone services. It also had a public library, a recreation centre with sports fields, and a post office. There was no movie theater in Kochas.

Most homes (95.6%) in the area got their drinking water from hand pumps. About 2.13% had tap water. For lighting, 14.58% of homes had electric lights, while 83.33% used kerosene lamps. Many homes (73.68%) did not have toilets inside and used open areas. About 22.16% had toilets connected to septic tanks.

About 31.69% of homes had a kitchen inside. Most people used cowdung cake for cooking fuel. About 50.61% of homes had access to banks.
