Kristen Anderson-Lopez (born March 21, 1972) is a famous American songwriter. She is best known for writing songs for Disney's Frozen and its sequel Frozen II. She worked on these movies with her husband, Robert Lopez.
Together, they won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Let It Go" from Frozen. They also won for "Remember Me" from the movie Coco. Kristen has also won two Grammy Awards. She works with Disney Music Publishing.

Kristen's Early Life and Family
Kristen Anderson-Lopez was born on March 21, 1972. She grew up in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and later in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her parents, Erin and John, still live in North Carolina.
Kristen loved theater from a young age. When she was four, her father took her to a musical show. This made her fall in love with the stage. She went to Charlotte Country Day School and then to Williams College. There, she studied drama and psychology.
After college, Kristen moved to New York City. She wanted to become a performer on Broadway. In 1999, she joined a workshop for musical theater writers. There, she discovered she loved writing lyrics. She also met her future husband, Robert Lopez.
In October 2003, Kristen married Robert Lopez. Robert is also a very successful songwriter. They have two daughters, Katie and Annie. Both of their daughters even had small voice parts in the movie Frozen. Kristen's sister, Kate Anderson, also writes songs. She helped write songs for Olaf's Frozen Adventure.
Musicals and Stage Shows
Kristen Anderson-Lopez has written songs for many stage productions. In 2006, she and her husband wrote songs for Finding Nemo – The Musical at Walt Disney World.
She also helped create a musical called In Transit. This show was first performed Off-Broadway. It later moved to Broadway in 2016.
Kristen also worked on a romantic musical called Up Here. She created this show with her husband and Alex Timbers. She has also written many short musicals for young audiences. These include Diary of a Worm and Fancy Nancy.
Kristen and her husband also worked on the Broadway musical version of Frozen.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and her husband first wrote songs for children's TV shows. These included Wonder Pets and Bear in the Big Blue House.
They also wrote music for the 2011 Disney movie Winnie the Pooh. Kristen even provided the voice for Kanga in the film.
Their most famous work is for the 2013 Disney movie Frozen. They wrote all the songs, including "Let It Go". This song won Kristen an Academy Award for Best Original Song. She also won two Grammy Awards for her work on Frozen. They later wrote all the songs for the sequel, Frozen II.
