Lawyer Marzell Milloy (born November 14, 1973) is a former American football player. He played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons. Milloy was known for his strong tackles and leadership on the field.
He played college football for the Washington Huskies. There, he was recognized as an unanimous All-American, meaning he was one of the best college players in the country. The New England Patriots drafted him in 1996. He also played for the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, and Seattle Seahawks. Milloy was chosen for the Pro Bowl four times and helped the Patriots win Super Bowl XXXVI.

College Football Journey
Lawyer Milloy played college football for the Huskies at the University of Washington in Seattle. He played from 1993 to 1995. In 1994, he was the only sophomore in the Pacific-10 Conference to earn all-conference honors. He led his team in tackles with 106.
As a junior, Milloy again led the team in tackles with 115. He also forced three fumbles and made one interception. In 1995, he was named a first-team All-American. This honor showed he was one of the top college players. He also won the Jim Thorpe Award in 1995, given to the best defensive back in college football.

Professional Football Career
Lawyer Milloy was a highly-rated player before the 1996 NFL draft. Experts thought he would be picked in the first or second round. The New England Patriots selected him in the second round as the 36th overall pick.
New England Patriots Years
Milloy joined the Patriots in 1996. He quickly showed his talent and became a starting strong safety. In his first season, he recorded 82 tackles and two interceptions. He also forced two fumbles and made one sack.
The Patriots had a great season in 1996, reaching Super Bowl XXXI. Milloy played in the Super Bowl, making eight tackles. Although the Patriots lost, it was a strong start to his career.

In 2010, Milloy became a starting strong safety for the Seahawks. He had a strong season, recording 88 tackles and four sacks. His two sacks against the Chicago Bears earned him a spot in the "20/20 club" (20 sacks and 20 interceptions in a career).
The Seahawks won their division in 2010. They famously upset the New Orleans Saints in the Wildcard Game. Milloy played in both playoff games that year. He was not re-signed by the Seahawks for the 2011 season, ending his impressive 15-year career.

Personal Life and Background
Lawyer Milloy was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Tacoma, Washington. He attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma. There, he was a talented athlete in football, baseball, and basketball.
In high school, he was a teammate of future NFL quarterback Jon Kitna. Milloy was named a high school All-American. He rushed for over 1,000 yards as a running back and had seven interceptions as a safety. He was considered the top high school football player in Washington state during his senior year.
Milloy is married to his college girlfriend, Claudine. She was also a successful athlete, an All-American in track at the University of Washington. Lawyer and Claudine live in Woodinville, Washington. They have four daughters: Amirah, Kiki, Tia, and Breya. Amirah and Kiki both played college softball, and Tia is committed to play softball at the University of Oklahoma.
