The Powerpuff Girls: Power Pop was released on August 12, 2003, on CD and audio cassette. Unlike the first two albums, this one got some mixed reviews. Heather Phares from AllMusic felt it was a "big disappointment."

However, two songs from this album were featured in The Powerpuff Girls Movie. These were "That's What Girls Do" by No Secrets and "Powerpunk End Theme" by Bis. The album still did pretty well, reaching the 15th spot on Billboard's Top Kid Audio chart.
