Catherine, Princess of Wales, is an important member of the British Royal Family. She is married to Prince William, who is next in line to become King. Royal Titles and Styles

When Catherine married Prince William in 2011, she became a princess of the United Kingdom. She also gained the special title "Her Royal Highness," which means she is a senior member of the Royal Family. At that time, she also became the Duchess of Cambridge. In Scotland, she was known as the Countess of Strathearn.

On September 8, 2022, Prince William's father became King Charles III. This meant Catherine received new titles. She became the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Rothesay (in Scotland). Soon after, on September 9, 2022, King Charles announced that William would be the Prince of Wales. This made Catherine the Princess of Wales. She is now known as "Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales." In Scotland, she is called "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Rothesay."
