When Camilla married Charles, Prince of Wales, she was usually called "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall." In Scotland, she was known as "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Rothesay." Even though she was legally the Princess of Wales, she chose to use the title "Duchess of Cornwall." This was because the title "Princess of Wales" was strongly linked to Charles's first wife, Diana.
In 2021, after Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh passed away, Charles inherited his father's titles. This meant Camilla also gained new titles, becoming the Duchess of Edinburgh, Countess of Merioneth, and Baroness Greenwich.
When Charles became King after his mother, Elizabeth II, passed away, Camilla automatically became Queen. Before their wedding in 2005, it was said she would be called "princess consort." However, there was no official rule or history for such a title. In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II announced that she wanted Camilla to be known as Queen Consort when Charles became King.
Before her coronation, Camilla was called "Her Majesty The Queen Consort." This helped people tell her apart from the recently passed Queen Elizabeth II. Since the coronation, Camilla has been known as "Her Majesty The Queen." When you speak to her, you should first say Your Majesty and then Ma'am (which sounds like "jam").
