Lita Cabellut, born in 1961, is a talented Spanish artist. She creates many different kinds of art and lives in The Hague, Netherlands. Lita is famous for her large paintings, where she uses a special modern version of an old painting style called fresco.

Lita Cabellut's Early Life and Learning

Lita Cabellut was born in 1961 in Sariñena, a small village in Aragon, Spain. As a child, she moved to Barcelona. Her early life was difficult; she spent much time on the streets. She would often pretend to sell "imaginary stars."

When she was twelve, a family from Catalonia adopted her. This new home changed her life. She discovered the amazing Prado Museum in Madrid. There, she was deeply inspired by the works of famous painters like Goya, Velázquez, Ribera, and Rembrandt.

At 19, Cabellut moved to the Netherlands. She studied art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 1982 to 1984. During this time, she was influenced by the old Dutch masters. She also developed her own unique art techniques that make her work special today.

How Lita Cabellut Creates Art

Lita Cabellut works on very large canvases. She has created a modern way to use the classic fresco technique. This means she paints on fresh plaster, but in her own unique style. She also has a special way of using colors. This helps her make the skin of the people in her portraits look very real.

But Lita is not just a painter. She is a multi-talented artist. Her work also includes drawings, sculptures, and photography. She designs sets for plays, creates art installations, writes poetry, and makes videos.
