Little Monadnock Mountain is a cool place to explore in New Hampshire. It stands about 1,900 feet (576 meters) tall. You can find this mountain in the towns of Fitzwilliam and Troy, New Hampshire.
Most of Little Monadnock Mountain is part of Rhododendron State Park. From the rocky spots near the top, you can see amazing views! A long hiking path called the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail even crosses over the mountain. This trail is about 110 miles long.
The mountain has other hills nearby. Gap Mountain is about four miles to the northeast. The Franconia Range is about 4.5 miles to the west. Water flowing from the south and east sides of Little Monadnock goes into the Tully River. This river then joins the Millers River, which flows into the Connecticut River. Finally, the water reaches Long Island Sound. Water from the north and west sides flows into the Ashuelot River, which also joins the Connecticut River.

Hiking Adventures on Little Monadnock
Are you ready for an adventure? You can reach the top of Little Monadnock Mountain in a few ways.
Reaching the Summit
The easiest way to get to the top is from Rhododendron State Park. You can start at the park's main office or trailhead in Fitzwilliam. From there, it's about 1.2 miles (1.9 kilometers) to the summit.
Another way is to use the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. This trail also leads to the top.
Loop Trails and Activities
If you like longer hikes, you can try a loop trail. This path uses both the park trail and parts of the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. The whole loop is about 4.1 miles (6.5 kilometers) long.
Little Monadnock Mountain is a great spot for many outdoor activities. You can go hiking and enjoy a picnic with your friends or family. In the winter, it's a fun place for snowshoeing. If you have a pet, leashed dogs are welcome in Rhododendron State Park.
