Livermore is a small city located in Humboldt County, Iowa, in the United States. In 2020, about 381 people lived there. Livermore is also known as the hometown of Dallas Clark, a famous football player who played for the University of Iowa and the NFL.

History of Livermore
Livermore was founded in 1879. It quickly became an important center for farming. The city had grain elevators and feed mills. These businesses helped farmers in the rich land around Livermore.
The city is located where the East Fork Des Moines River meets Lott's Creek. Early businesses included a factory that made bricks and tiles. They also processed farm products. As fewer people lived in rural areas of north central Iowa, Livermore's population also became smaller. Its elementary school closed in 2005.

Livermore is located at 42.866849 degrees North and -94.184051 degrees West. It sits where Lotts Creek flows into the East Fork Des Moines River.

2020 Census Overview
In 2020, the census counted 381 people living in Livermore. There were 157 households and 95 families. The city had about 556 people per square mile.
Most residents (90.3%) were White. A small number of people were from other racial backgrounds. About 3.1% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
The average age in Livermore was 36.4 years. About 25.7% of residents were under 20 years old. Also, 16.5% were 65 years or older. The population was almost evenly split between males (49.6%) and females (50.4%).
2010 Census Overview
The 2010 census showed 384 people living in Livermore. There were 164 households and 106 families. The population density was about 549 people per square mile.
Most residents (96.9%) were White. Other groups included African American, Native American, and people from two or more races. About 2.3% of the population was Hispanic or Latino.
About 28% of households had children under 18. The average age in the city was 41 years. About 24.5% of residents were under 18. And 15.9% were 65 or older. The city's population was 49.7% male and 50.3% female.

Livermore is part of the Twin Rivers Community School District. This district manages the local schools.
Community Life in Livermore
Livermore has a strong community spirit. Many people in the area have German Catholic heritage. Because of this, the largest church in town is Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Other churches include Livermore United Methodist and Immanuel Lutheran.
The Bethel Presbyterian Church closed in the late 1970s. Its building is now home to the Livermore Community Club and a museum. This shows how the community reuses its spaces.
Parks and Recreation
- Old Settlers' Park: This park dates back to 1890. Early families in Livermore each gave a log to build a cabin there. The park is located at the west entrance of the community.
- Community Facilities: The town also has a library and a community swimming pool. There is also a high school baseball and softball complex.
- Spring Valley Golf Club: Just north of Livermore, you'll find this golf course. It was once named Iowa's best nine-hole course. Now it has 18 holes.
